I got a box of Wheat Thins Bigs the other week to use for a dip -- it was like $5 for 8oz and the chips are half as thin as they used to be. I will also add that non-political community activities can be both doing good and doing yourself good: work with community gardens & food banks, meals on wheels, aid for immigrant communities, mentoring programs, cleanup days, literacy tutoring, etc. Most volunteer organizations & activities are geared toward people who don't have a lot of free time and they require as little as one day a month or even once a year for special events.

the interesting thing about this for me is that we all know what you need already- good grades, extracurricular activities, regular charity work and hopefully international, national or local awards doing stuff these people clearly got a fail child that did none of those things so theyre paying a fixer or rain maker to “help” smooth the application process / buy the dean a new house

my parents hired this lovely consultant to help get me into a better college and he tried to sell them life insurance in the middle of the meeting lol. anyway i went to the cheapest state school and was much better off for it.
