Haha I'll be sure to drop by. This forum was actually really helpful in preparing the material like the 30+ year old school reports which in retrospect were very telling, but according to my dad just at the time chalked up as me simply having issues with authority like the rest of my mothers side of the family.

I really gotta make the drat appointment to see if I have AHDH, despite psycologists saying I was just gifted as a kid. Maybe I just got worse with age since nowadays I have trouble focusing on stuff unless I'm in the zone and I hyperfocus.

I'm pretty sure I have something cause while self-diagnostics are bad, I don't thinks it's normal to relate to every single ADHD experience I read.

Definitely worth getting an assessment. Also, it doesn't really come into play that you were in gifted classes, ADHD has no bearing on intelligence.

They told me I had ADHD when I was a kid, but I think it turned out I was just autistic, and there's a lotta stuff there that's comorbid with ADHD.

Yeah I was in the gifted and advanced classes as well. By most accounts I was considered a smart kid (ignoring that I liked the Mario movie as an adult, lol), but also almost impossible to teach because I seemed to get bored and distracted very easily unless it was something I was really interested in like music or art.

haha what posted:its ok to like a movie I mean I'm not going to unlike the movie because I could actually say a lot of positive things about it, but I'm at peace with other people probably having valid criticisms of it too. I was honestly expecting to be a bit disappointed after the initial reviews came out the day before, so I'm glad I had a good time with it at least. It probably helped though that I haven't been overexposed to this studios movies. I've never seen an Illumination film before, and the three most recent Dreamworks animated movies I saw were The Boss Baby (2017), The Croods (2013), and Megamind (2010) so I was probably due for pure sugar in cinema form, lol.

Thanks for the kind works. And yeah, my therapist also pointed out giftedism, autism and AHDH are all related. It's just nowadays it's affecting my work, my Japanese studies and even my gaming (unless it's a game I hyperfixate on, I end up doing 3 things at the time to keep me from boredom). Funniest thing is my family might have a tradition of undiagnosed neurodivergences, apparently I have several cousins I never met with similar stuff and honestly my dad also has terrible attention span. anyways i got the vampire survivors DLC after unlocking the entire base game, new map is fun but I feel it's a bit empty of stuff besides a new weapon and a character unlock. specially since it seems all the others are "evolve the new weapons and survive 15m with new characters". will probably do those on the hardest difficulty for a more fun challenge. i hope the next dlc does have some secrets to spice things up.

So far as far as I know, 'ADHD is a kind of autism' is only a theory and not widely accepted. It makes a lot of sense though.

Currently working on my ADHD diagnosis (gotta go in for an ECG next week as part of a specialist referral). I did the initial official questionnaire and scored pretty fuckin highly on it ASD…..maybe a little? I do get easily overwhelmed and am quick to anger/get stressed if something isn’t as I expected it (like work being busier than I thought) or I can’t get something I planned to get (even something as silly as like, a milkshake) or when plans change suddenly. Maybe worth looking into, but I’ll focus on just one thing at a time.

Maybe worth looking into, but I’ll focus on just one thing at a time. speaking as someone who went through the ADHD -> ASD pipeline, ASD and ADHD both share executive dysfunction as one of their core symptoms (though with different areas of executive function being affected), so it's easy to get a blanket ADHD diagnosis that masks the root cause. i got lucky and had a psych who was particularly perceptive when i was getting my ADHD evaluation done, and she sent me up the chain to get a confirmatory ASD diagnosis afterwards the good news is that stimulant medication improves the core symptoms of both, although i'd still definitely getting an evaluation if you have suspicions, since just having that knowledge of, "oh, that's why i'm reacting the way i am," can bring tremendous peace of mind
