A picture from battlefield 1942. It was a picture of an aircraft carrier parked on a hill. The caption read "There seems to be a porblem"

This is not the right one but it seemed extremely coincidental that my "on this day" feature just showed me a bunch of porblem photos I apparently saved on April 25 2004 or something Hm there seems to be a porblem with adding file attachments

Does anyone know popular camp songs? What about popular camp songs in French? I've had the cadence of this tune (but not the actual lyrics because my French is terrible) stuck in my head for a few days. Used to work at this summer camp and one of the Quebecois counsellors brought in this song. Near as I can tell, it's about cross-country skiing, and the repeat-after-me lyrics seem to describe putting on or taking off your ski gear. There are interludes where you mime the act of skiing, and the last lyric, in English, the only part I remember, is "PANTS OFF." Yeah, super weird I know, but despite not knowing basically any of the words, it's an earworm.

My boyfriend has a white whale, in his words: It's a segment from something that I always thought was Sesame Street, but have never found reference to. Shot on location (i.e. not animation) in an empty playground. There's a door in the middle of the grass. I remember it as a white door with a white door frame. I don't remember what actually happens with this door. My memory of it is eerie and mostly silent; I can only hear ambient outdoor sounds. Seems like something I could have dreamed but I swear it was a recurring segment.

Some one else answered about those pictures in particular, but if you just want a random assortment of 80s photos, you can't go wrong with the Internet K-Hole. Well, unless you don't want to see a few naked pictures mixed in with the others. It's usually not excessive, but every now and again there might be a series of nude shots. Internet K-Hole It's not a parade, but I did happen to see one Budweiser themed image while I was scrolling through.

There was a short story i read in highschool (1999) about a couple drinking and watching the sunset from there kitchen. It goes on to describe the red hues being cast in the room and their pulse as they sat in silence. I might be a little off in my description, but i only read it once. Id love to read it again if anyone happens to know it.

For a few years quite some time ago on the BBC Sport website, there was this stupid little flash rugby web game. I *think* it was for the Six Nations but don't really remember. Anyone else remember this, much less have a working link?

A short story that i remember being linked to from here. I think there was a lady reporter on assignment and going with a... scientist? Into some sort of either time machine or shrinking machine. I think it has something to do with the heat death of the universe, i remember at the end she survives somehow and she finds out the scientist tried it again?

Years back, someone made a Tetris game where you could rotate the pieces freely instead of in 90 degree increments as a joke and I forgot what it was called.

Oh yeah, I’ve definitely seen Internet K-Hole, but it’s a site I forgot about so thanks for reminding me about it If people are bored and want to watch actual time video time capsules of yesteryear without commentary, this YouTuber digitizes and uploads B-roll news footage of people going about doing the most mundane things that was obviously shot for news segments at the time, but they are the full length B-roll footage and they rule. Who wouldn’t want to watch people waiting in line for gas in 1979 or checking out the Nintendo Power Set in 1988? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KqP9Rk9kMGQ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L627mwVwmQE

This rules. You rule A lot of those slides are quite nice in composition and lighting, like seriously nice vintage vibes. Much better quality than most mass produced cheap plastic Kodak cameras of the day.

Could you be thinking of Safety Not Guaranteed? It's a movie, not a short story. It's based on a joke personal ad that ran in some magazine in the 90's. An editor wrote it to fill space but it was weird and evocative and got shared on Leno and Car Talk, and eventually a movie was made.
