I wonder how many of these accounts there are that are just like "Statistics World, where we like Statistics " and behind the curtain it's Rudolf Hess furiously turning a crank handle.

Seems like the 9% are getting the best deal. 1 percenters owning most of the national parks kinda sucks though.

nah if there is one true, obective good thing about the US, it's that the national parks fuckin rock. The 1percent sitting atop Mt Elbert, just laughing their rear end off at pretty lil Europe and its "wilderness" e: then a canadian rides in mooseback and goes like "you thought your Rocky Mountains were beautiful..." Spazzle posted:I mean, it probably is divided like this? Not exactly. 28% of US land belongs to the Federal Government, so right off the bat there's a big chunk that doesn't fit in. Outside of that, there's not really that much connection between wealth distribution and land distribution. A lot of the most lucrative businesses aren't really land-intensive, so a lot of land use gets eaten up by less lucrative things like lumber, pastures, and crops (and with crops, there's still often a lack of relation between area and value, places like California and Hawaii can squeeze a whole lot more value out of smaller areas with cash crops compared to the midwest's endless tracts of corn). There are a definitely few giant landowners gobbling up big chunks of the land, but I don't think it's quite as bad as wealth distribution. It also doesn't come up much, because people talk more about the comparatively tiny amount of urban land usage, and much less about national parks, and much much less about logging. Big agricultural landowners are very politically important in their local areas, but their relevancy drops steeply the further you get from heavily rural areas so there's not many people to talk about it.

I actually wonder if that's taking all the various uses of corn for alchemical transmutation and putting it under just "ethanol" because we can get a lot of weird chemicals out of corn.
