Last night after the DOA main event, Dragongate basically spelled out the new "Big Six" carrying the company into the new era: Madoka Kikuta, Yuki Yoshioka, Shun Skywalker, Kota Minoura, Strong Machine J, and Ben-K. For reference, the previous Big Six: Masato Yoshino, YAMATO, Shingo Takagi, Akira Tozawa, BxB Hulk, and Naruki Doi. Half of those have moved on, Doi's a freelancer now, Hulk's injuries have stacked up over the years, and YAMATO is still great but is aging out of the ace role, so it's really smart to solidify this new era of top talent, especially with such a strong rookie crop coming up fast.

Watching the Big Japan Sapporo double shot (or at least the SamuraiTV edit that summarises 2 full shows into a 2 hour block) & first thing we see after the intro is Mad Man Pondo and Necro Butcher, and Necro is waving a Trump 2024 flag and wearing horrendous looking stars and stripes pants. Meanwhile Pondo is apparently too fat for his old boots as they won't lace up properly. Necro just had a metal trash can lobbed at his skull. Man, I do not know what possessed BJW to bring this pair back, they sure ain't what they used to be

And then there's a disappointing Okabayashi vs Sekimoto match for the Strong title, and an interminable deathmatch between Abby Jr & Ito, a match with a combined age of over 90 that felt every bit of it. These guys should only be in singlew matches against younger guys who'll work their butts off
