These numbers go along with the narrative of no more increases, but higher for longer rates.

The biggest question mark is still energy. At the moment it is showing a decent continued decline for May.

It must all be based on eggs. The prices of eggs have stopped being at profiteering levels, so all good prices must have gone down along with them.

About time. Its honestly ridiculous how we have to gatekeep medical care behind ludicrous expensive tuition and extreme long hours just to get the chance to tell people "maybe it's just all in your head? Isn’t the inflation percentage compared to last months percentage? IE: If last month food prices went up 5% and this month food prices went up 5% then they claim food inflation is at 0%? I may be misremembering.

its funny because around here eggs never went down to below $4:00 highest they reached here was around $5:00 for a dozen after they did their insane profit raises. before inflation the cheapest usually was around like $1.90 for a dozen

That makes the point for 0% or the -.2% that a different chart shows. The egg prices have stabilized or dropped slightly. Just ignore everything else going up that doesn’t fit the narrative spin.

I don't know if you're joking, but something tells me the quality of care isn't going to go up by reducing the amount of education necessary to become a healthcare professional.

I know nurses love to tell stories about all the dumb doctors they work for, but a lot of doctors have their own "nurses who think they know more than they do" stories too.

“training people so they don’t kill others by accident” is gate keeping now?

5% is still extremely elevated and historically associated with a much higher funds rate. A pause honestly doesn't make any sense in this particular situation from a historical perspective, and cutting would be an open admission that we can't take the economy off its 2008-era life support.

If food prices went up 5% last month and then 5% this month, they would report neither of these numbers because they would adjust them down for assumed substitutions you would make to switch from the more expensive stuff to cheaper stuff. Otherwise, they should be reporting 5% each month.
