It's just a guess but looking at the (extremely sparse) interior footage on YouTube, the A pillars and windshield look like they were preserved from the donor Kia stinger:

That's just a wild guess on my part but the interior video footage does look like factory stamped steel with the trim pieces removed

So they're killing off the Stinger but building a niche RWD retro-coupe based on it? That's a bold strategy.

Iirc it's not based on the stinger at all.
Also the stinger is a niche RWD sedan that doesn't even have retro going for it.

"It's a [Kia] Stinger," Albert Biermann tells C/D with a broad grin. The 66-year-old German left BMW's M Division to become Hyundai-Kia's R&D boss and also ... So we had to build a mecha-proto—which is what we call a prototype built on an existing car—and then apply the new systems. We realized the Stinger was closest in terms of size."

Four of these Stinger-based prototypes were built, each with the 85-kW fuel-cell stack from

A motorbike would fill most people's needs judging by the amount of cars I see every day sat in traffic with just a driver inside.

When I'm at a car show I get tired of seeing Tri five chevies and the new balance boomers.

When I'm driving around and see one I smile every time. They're great cars and at least compared to traffic they're unique.

Also, after the work I've done on an undesirable car, I no longer have disdain for those who choose the popular option. It would probably have been similar enjoyment for me to buy springs out of a catalog than search through every vendor who might have them and find appropriate substitutes where they aren't available. Aerodynamics matter. Particularly for EV's.

Note, the GM EV1 had a Cd of 0.19, which is the lowest of any production car (so they say).

One of the folks in the Human Powered Vehicle (HPV) scene modded a older Civic and managed to get impressive mpg:

Cd tested out to be 0.17.

The industry is really loving up EVs, poo poo like the Hummer EV should absolutely not exist and EVs should be smaller, lighter, slower(!) and more slippery to take advantage of smaller, lighter battery packs.

That they're throwing so much battery at enormous vehicles is such a waste of juice considering very few ever get used to their limits anyway.

I think it’s good marketing. If you want to sell EVs you need to show they’re cool. Introducing them as an over the top halo also typically gets you more margin and learning opportunities for the very expensive to design and tool, mass market, lower cost, more practical options.

It’s like how ford introduced their buyers to small displacement turbos engines. Yeah you could buy the 5l v8. But if you want a big dick truck you gotta spend more and get the 3.5l eco boost. I hardly ever hear ford guys bitch about turbos motors.

Also look at that same playbook but reversed for how GM introduced their customer base to turbos with the 2.7 4 cylinder. I think that one has gone rather poorly. Which is a shame cause that motor is going to rock in the Colorado.
