Nothing will happen because statecraft is boring as gently caress and nobody died from it, so it can just be buried. As much as NATO is loving sending equipment to Ukraine and training Ukrainian troops, they have zero desire to escalate this into a direct NATO vs Russia conflict without a really good reason. There will be some politicians whining about it, and some finger waggling, but thats about it.

If they could spin it as an intentional attack against Poland, say the rocket had hit an apartment complex or a military base, or anything that caused casualties, then it maybe would be looked at through the lens of Article V.

yeah, I didn't mean article 5 kick the tires and light the fires, more what boring statecraft will result. under the circumstances though I guess it gets lost in the everything else we're already doing and it amounts to a Strongly Worded Letter they'll just ignore :(

Strong stroll for a mangy stray

This is actually how the Russian government organizes a lot of what it does. It's a strategy sometimes referred to as 'parallelism', and its main purposes are to coup-proof the regime and abstract responsibility.

Having separate armed groups allows the regime to pit them against each other and maintain ultimate control by ensuring no one armed group is powerful enough to threaten the central autocracy. It also allows them (him, really) to avoid responsibility when war crimes, massacres, or general illegal military actions are undertaken in other countries.

Not remotely surprised the different organizations hate each other, and how they fight over resources and 'market share' in the war. That's exactly how it's been designed.

Well another news in the front Putin has called for his reservists to be mobilized. This is unfortunately not going to benefit the buck move front anytime soon with the ramparts being stormed by the ukrainians as of today. We look to the following days to see what comes of this localized counteroffensive against Wagner and the Russian forces that are in bakhmood and whether or not it causes serious damage to the already plummeted morale. With Wagner not communicating with regular Russian army forces that could definitely cause some unfortunate events like fragging.

Russian domestic propaganda is two-prong:
- the bigger part where most officials, TV and other major state media operate pretend it is a Special Operation where the casualties are minimal and precise weapons only kill "nationalists" and "insurgets" and every damaged building is a result of a false flag or hits from UA own AA systems. This is aimed at the core support of the regime - 50+ year olds who pretend everything is normal until they overdose on copium.
- the smaller part operating on the Internet - endless "war correspondents", second echelon of state journalists and bloggers who say the war is war and the war is based. Those are a bit more tethered to reality but only because they want to see the enemy suffer. They are a bit too much for prime time because the state does not want them to talk about ongoing problems and ruin the pretty picture.
