You're making the same mistake that people made when they were predicting that Elon Musk was going to worm his way out of buying Twitter. Having a lot of money helps a lot with most legal troubles, but there's a whole lineup of laws and legal constructs designed specifically to deal with wealthy businessmen who might try to screw over their fellow wealthy businessmen. Those laws generally have some level of "you can't just buy your way out of commitments or consequences" baked in somehow, for obvious practical reasons, and that means the usual bullshit won't work nearly as well. Jones filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy, the Rich People flavor of bankruptcy reserved for big businesses and mega-rich people who somehow managed to get themselves into massive debt. That's the same flavor of bankruptcy used for carving up companies worth tens of billions of dollars, such as failed megabanks, dying airlines, collapsing car companies, and Enron. That's not something you can just put on hold forever by spending a few million bucks.

We are beyond the realm of precedent; for all we know he’s going to lose his next lawsuit so hard it causes a wraparound error and he becomes the judge. More seriously, I want to see what the total count is on how many lawyers he goes through by the time things are done. I think he’s up to 24 as of last week, not all at the same time, some overlapping, but mostly coming onto the case and then leaving and being replaced.
