Right, but it's not like the idea of freedom of religion we have in America, it's the spicy French version that seems to be actively antagonistic towards public religious displays

Ask me about peasant etymology!
We couldn't have a woman, wearing a hijab, serve children food at a cafeteria, after the Christmas pageant, in a school called Holy Name of Jesus because that would be state endorsement of Islam.

I'm starting to see why Trump is so popular on the right-wing, when you compare his "personality", abhorrent though it may be, to the sort of anti-charisma exhibited by Meatball Ron and Cruz.

It's always surprising how many people have become successful in politics without any charisma. You'd think it would count more.

I think the last charisma-less president was GHWB, and he only got the one term.

I mean, they also give heavy side-eye to Jewish folks wearing kippot (and wanting kosher food), so it's not *just* Islam!

The secret is that "charisma" is no more objectively real than "intelligence" in that each represents a whole lot of separate and really subjective skills that might not mean much to a given person or in a given situation, so it's easy to not get why so many people are just obsessed by the charm of (insert loser.)

I’ve heard so many times that Clinton makes people feel like they are the only other person in the room when he talks to you. It does seem to be something special. This kind of skill is useful in both politics and seducing interns.

Bill is one of those guys who can remember your name from that one time you met 20 years ago. It's like one of the background X-Men with silly powers, only he used it to become President. Also assault. So maybe a background Brotherhood of Evil Mutants member.
