Luann 1. It's meant to be a punchline, but it's actually a pretty good idea? Sounds like Team Evans wrote it! 2. They actually attempted to do something interesting with the art in that middle panel. I like to recognize the rare times that happens. Gil Thorp Chop off your own finger! That'll show your dad!

Fingerpori Not really sure about this one. On the left there's Urho, the local porn star, then Asko, the local pervert, and then a priest whom I assume to be anonymous and not a recurring character. The word for "adult movie" is "aikuiselokuva", literally "adult movie", so unless there's a secondary meaning missing, I'm not sure what's up. ANSU I really like this one!

Mutts Sally Forth Say what you will about Peanuts, but sometimes it just gets me. (June 6, 1976) Crankshaft Rip Haywire and the Curse of Tangaroa! Popeye Skippy's betrayal of his toothpaste overlords a few weeks ago reminded me that Skippy made history by being the subject of the first modern-format comic book dedicated to a single character in 1934. It was an in-store premium for buying a tube of Phillps Dental Magnesia Toothpaste, with a print run of 500,000 copies. And of course, just like Famous Funnies, they're all shrunken-down versions of previously published Skippy Sunday pages, which suits my purposes just fine. So please welcome a new Sunday feature: Skippy's Own Book Of Comics.
