A total reset in downtown SF real estate would be the greatest thing to happen to the city in decades, perhaps ever

Ahoy, Captain!

In a vindication for Willa, Pew Research has officially given up on pushing the generation narrative in its polling, and will instead focus on actual demographic characteristics:

https://www.pewresearch.org/short-reads/2023/05/22/how-pew-research-center-will-report-on-generations-moving-forward/

Former generation peddlers Pew Research posted:

Existing generational definitions also may be too broad and arbitrary to capture differences that exist among narrower cohorts. A typical generation spans 15 to 18 years. As many critics of generational research point out, there is great diversity of thought, experience and behavior within generations. The key is to pick a lens that’s most appropriate for the research question that’s being studied. If we’re looking at political views and how they’ve shifted over time, for example, we might group people together according to the first presidential election in which they were eligible to vote.

By choosing not to use the standard generational labels when they’re not appropriate, we can avoid reinforcing harmful stereotypes or oversimplifying people’s complex lived experiences.

With these considerations in mind, our audiences should not expect to see a lot of new research coming out of Pew Research Center that uses the generational lens. We’ll only talk about generations when it adds value, advances important national debates and highlights meaningful societal trends.

That would be Totalitarian, they tell me. How about everyone who owns more than two houses has to fill out a standardized test and the bottom 95% are gulaged In a right-respecting-manner? Should have worked harder for the test instead of whining imo.

tho for real tech companies are still massively higher in headcount in 2023 than pre-pandemic/2020. they pretty much hired anyone who could even touch a keyboard in a big bonanza. we aren't even close to even getting down to 2019-level of staffing except for twits and that's probably more like at 2017 staffing

idk about banks

also sf is a literal and metamorphic toilet... so of course no one wants to fly on expensive $$$ planes to go there when they can go someplace cool+fun instead like hawaii or berlin or cinque terre or even nyc. and with conferences down massively including dearth of big conferences, that also hits the area particularly hard. and then why would anyone want to commute there if they can work remotely, there isn't even anything worth it anymore and is either closed up shop or costs $$$$

Also you haven't even convinced people to RTO you've gotta wait on pieces like this until you have people trapped against their will again. Big Mistake!

Yes but that just ends with you dead and nothing more. Those with the resources to fight eventually were made whole, those without were not, same as it ever was.

Also I’m half convinced those home title lock corporations that sprang up after that time were formed mainly due to the illegal actions by the banks and not by actual identity thieves.
