And when i asked my vet about it, she said it fluoresces if she has given the owner a dye to haves cat ingest in a multi-cat household when they can’t figure out which cat is peeing outside the box. It’s almost always a health problem, so it’s helpful to know which cat to bring in for numerous tests. Ok that's very interesting. Do you have a product name or description so I can find out more about the cat pee luminol?

Hey kind of tangential to the thread but etsy is really lousy with dropshipped alibaba products, is there a good plugin or something for easily crosschecking whether a product on there is legit?

If they took their own photos and wrote their own description that doesn't match what appears on the alibaba/aliexpress listings at all, I'm not sure there would be any good way to detect that easily. It would be nice if there was a way to automate checking that but I'm not sure that would be that practical.

Etsy has had this problem since its inception, unfortunately. There isn't an easy way to crosscheck. I can tell you that a dropshipper or copycat won't go to the trouble of establishing an online presence including portfolios, events, sites like Faire, etc. If there's a type of product you shop on Etsy, it might also be worth visiting online communities for those creators.

Etsy was good right at the start, but the dropship bloat set in really fast once people noticed it. It's sad because it was cool seeing people sell their properly unique creations, but now it's nearing impossible to filter and find artists and makers in the sea of imported, stolen and counterfeit tat.

Google Image Search usually works, but you can also just look at the seller's page and use some common sense. Do they have hundreds of sales per month? Probably not making it themselves. Do they have a bunch of items in a wide range of materials and/or styles? See above.

Instead, in a form of supply chain management, the seller transfers the orders and their shipment details either to the manufacturer, a wholesaler, another retailer, or a fulfillment house, which then ships the goods directly to the customer
