Honestly, adding monsters and dragons is fine. Go wild with it. The original stories were pretty dry- they could use some dragons in a TV adaptation. I'm way more worried about the implications of an Emperor walking around on Terminus. I liked it better when Seldon's prophesy was just a nagging doubt eating away at the Cleons. We'll be told he's a charismatic genius while being shown none of that. This show isn't randomly bad, it's obsessed with Prestige TV formulas and bad at implementing them. The Mule will probably have ridiculous superpowers, but it's going to be to test the theological convictions of our heroes, leading them to wonder if perhaps he is part of some divine plan, or proof that there is no god, or what have you. He will end up being an allegory for Satan. Something shallowly deep and frustratingly far from the source material.

He'll be the Phoenix Jean Grey from the X-men, only he conquers worlds. He'll be talked down by a hologram Hari Seldon, and they won't cast him as a spindly man-spider like he is in the books. There could be an interesting on-screen adaptation of him saying incoherent and weird stuff, and still amaze political leaders, since that was his only super-power. But I do not think this show can explore that in an interesting way. Just make it all Cleons, please.

I guess if his son takes his blood and it prematurely ages him, he can technically “look like an 18 year old”. Why exactly would he take an older persons (his dad) blood? As far as the time jumps and character changes, anthology shows do this every season without issue, so I don't see any of that being a problem. The rest of the stories, I mean, they're pretty straight forward page turners that would be easy to adapt. Its not even like they're devoid of action and all talking like people often claim, like sure its not described on the pages in detail, but I mean even the second story ends with impending space battle, takeover of ships, ray guns, shields, and then going into full interstellar war with bel riose, and the mule has plenty of battles, galaxy spanning chases etc. It would be incredibly basic to adapt and you could expand all the action stuff there just fine if people are concerned its a bunch of people sitting around talking.
