The more important concern is why are they still pretending that stop and search even works, despite large amounts of evidence that it does worse than nothing.

Someone should tell Tufton Street to at least file the numbers off when importing culture wars from the loving Klan.

She is an idiot, but her figures are correct for London.

She doesn't mention London at all in the tweet, and the tweet was made in reference to "The Home Secretary has called for all police forces in England and Wales to 'ramp up' their use of stop and search powers to prevent more knife attacks."

So either she hasn't figured out that the rest of England and Wales isn't London (always a possibility with media idiots) or she's 'coincidentally' using the same numbers as American white supremacists.

We've had a few incidents of that crowd importing US right wing ideas with no clue as to the surrounding context, e.g. bringing in photo ID for voting in person (cooked up to suppress the rural Black vote in the South which doesn't exist in the Britain), Rees-Mogg talking about 'gerrymandering' in English local elections, Evangelical culture war shibboleths, etc. so it's more than a little suspect.

(And that "what about the poor black victims" rhetoric is straight from the superpredator playbook even if that's not where her suspicious use of numbers comes from.)

To a BBQ Becky, sitting with a full picnic, actively cooking food with some cooking utensils, while your family sit on folding chairs listening to a portable radio is not quite enough proof.

God that was such a funny month between this and the Queen dying, just an incredible time for content.

Also low hanging fruit but big lol at Harry and Meghan getting paid like 20 million quid to do a podcast and then doing 12 episodes where they didn't even bother to interview their guests and had someone else do it for them.

Somewhat enjoying the "How much of a oval office is Boris Johnson?" debate going on in the Commons at the moment. Slightly ruined by Sir Billiam Dosh showing off his increasing tenuous hair and grasp of rules of evidence. It seems his greatest defence of Boris Johnson is that he has a completely spotless mind, untouched by memory or history, and therefore when he lied to parliament, it wasn't willfully lying but merely the words of a baby with no object permanence.

Smellmycheese had the great misfortune of posting the tweet minutes before the butter knife chat which sucked all the comedy oxygen out of the room. Then the oxygen slowly replenished and fuctifino got in there quick to take advantage, an admirable strategic move that paid off handsomely
