They should fire the current CEO and get "Beto" installed as his replacement, considering that the only qualification is prominent gums and a run of annual losses to your name. Serioulsy it would give "Beto" something to do and keep Jeb! away from the reigns of mass culture influence like he did so taste once with 'guaccabowle'

The steam sub is now about literal steam, and not because of the mods, the users just started shitposting steam content to protest it being reopened. And wellthatsucks is full of vacuum cleaner memes and you can only comment "Henry" or "Hoover".

Not to go full on reddit history, but tthat wasn't the end of Reddit directly hosting vile stuff for site traffic. I think it took the sub where they were posting pics of dead kids and doxxing them, or tricking parents into seeing the pics, for Spez to step in and start regulating content. /r/raisedbynarcissists literally changed my life, but hooooly poo poo Reddit is a trash site.

Yep great idea to use reddit as a source for information

I used to work in fraud for an airline and we had passengers get scammed out of thousands of dollars every day by googling us and trusting the first result, which was always a scam, and would’ve been obvious by actually looking at it. Imagine being that person

Reddit works best as a news aggregator. There's a subreddit for every special interest you can think of, and there's so many people that if something happens, someone will make a post about it. It's how I find out about Magic news (people will post a new card within seconds of it being previewed elsewhere), deals on board games or whatever I want to buy, etc. My daughter asked when her favorite show was coming back, and of course there was a subreddit with info and even a bit of teaser about what the season might be about. Don't ask why there's a subreddit for a kid's show, it's not like I'm letting her on Reddit.

Deleted all of my comments and posts and then deleted my account today. I doubt I'll miss it, by this point I was only really active in 2 career-specific subreddits and only occasionally checked in on my city's subreddit for local stuff, which I can do without an account anyway. The API stuff is gross, but trying to reactivate subreddits that were down in protest and kicking their owners out to replace them with admin appointed mods was beyond the last straw.
