I found another strange rescue story from Everest.

https://explorersweb.com/everest-chinese-woman-refuses-pay-rescue/

-Fan, Xie, Lakpa Gelu, and Pem Chhiri started to head down toward Camp 4.
The two sherpas carried the woman and gave her oxygen, while Fan and Xie held her legs.
It took them 11 hours to reach 7,950m Camp 4 at the South Col with the stricken Liu.

They negotiated a payment for the rescue on top of the mountain.
And then where not fully payed.

I don't know if, or how much of this story is true.

According to Sky News, the debris includes the landing frame and the rear cover from the Titan. No hull section parts found yet.

update:

All five onboard the missing Titan sub are believed to have died, the company that operates the submersible said in a statement.

quote:

All five onboard the missing Titan sub are believed to have died, the company that operates the submersible said in a statement.
"We now believe that our CEO Stockton Rush, Shahzada Dawood and his son Suleman Dawood, Hamish Harding, and Paul-Henri Nargeolet, have sadly been lost," a statement said.
"These men were true explorers who shared a distinct spirit of adventure, and a deep passion for exploring and protecting the world's oceans.
"Our hearts are with these five souls and every member of their families during this tragic time. We grieve the loss of life and joy they brought to everyone they knew."

In a news conference minutes later, Rear Admiral John Mauger - who is leading the search - confirmed that a remotely operated vehicle had discovered the tail cone of the missing sub, approximately 600ft from the bow of the Titanic on the seafloor.
Additional debris was found nearby, with Mr Mauger adding: "In consultation with experts from within unified command, the debris is consistent with the catastrophic loss of the pressure chamber.
"On behalf of US Coast Guard and entire unified command, I offer deepest condolences to the families. I can only imagine what this has been like for them, and I hope this discovery provides some solace during this difficult time."
Sky's US correspondent, James Matthews, asked the rear admiral whether any trace of the five passengers had been found.
Mr Mauger replied: "This is an incredibly complex operating environment on the seafloor, over two miles beneath the surface. The remote operating vehicle has been searching, and it s highly capable, and we've been able to classify parts of the pressure chamber for the Titan submersible."

Early on Thursday morning, it had been confirmed that a "debris field" had been found at the search site.
A rescue expert who knows two of the five men onboard had told Sky News that Titan's landing frame and rear cover had been identified.
Five days have passed since Titan's passengers embarked on a two-hour dive to see the wreck of the Titanic - and teams from multiple countries have scoured thousands of square miles looking for the minivan-sized vessel.
On Wednesday, the US Coast Guard had forecast that the vessel's air supply would run out by 12.08pm UK time today.
Finding the missing submersible in a totally dark environment was likened to discovering a needle in a haystack - and according to experts, even specialist vehicles on the seafloor can only see for a matter of metres.

Whoever had 'catastrophic depressurization' can collect their prize.

It's really hard to say, it depends exactly how the tank failed. This is going to seem ghoulish as hell and I don't mean it that way but there might be identifiable chunks.

Oh my god, the Coast Guard press conference. After repeatedly explaining that it was a catastrophic failure, the poor bastard has to explain again and again to idiot reporters that getting there earlier wouldn't have helped. JFC.

Anyway, the guy in charge of the ROV said there were two debris fields, he seemed a bit cagey about what they found which made me wonder if there was some sign of remains, if not bodies, perhaps clothing, shoes, that sort of thing? They found the previously mentioned tail cone first, then the rear titanium ring, then the front titanium seal and the rest of the debris he didn't get into specifics.

Oh yeah, after it was made clear that the wreckage was found 1600 feet from the bow of the Titanic, yet another genius reporter asked if the sub might have imploded because it collided with the wreckage. No, I'm not giving him the benefit of the doubt assuming he might have meant the stern. Because they are idiots.

Titanic was a sinking boat. A submarine depressurizing at the same depth is a whole different beast. Might as well be a Thanos-snap from human beings, clothes, etc to particles, which is why the metal bits of the sub are the only recognizable thing that has or will ever show.
