I had the OG one and my brother and I got endless entertainment out of it. The fact that they turned the idea up to 11 is not a shock.

For instance, we also had a lot of Nerf guns, most of which were single fire.

Nowadays, I see Nerf guns that are bolt action Barrett .50 cal sniper rifles, and belt fed gatling guns.

The advancement in Nerf tech has been astounding the last 30+ years.

Edit: Case in point. My allowance would’ve been utterly decimated by Nerf back in the day if I was offered this kind of firepower. There’s even a modular rifle that accepts battery powered scopes, foregrips and bipods, for gently caress’s sake.

i have long been obsessed with the little foldup suitcase gun that the kid in Robocop 2 had and in "researching" it i stumbled headlong into the fever dream of modern Nerf. Nerf isn't just for boys anymore. if it ever was.

They need to bring back "smashups" or "crackups" or whatever the gently caress they were.
The little cars that had spring loaded parts and if you crashed them in to each other, the pieces would flip around and look like they were all hosed up.

I had to give evidence in court once and was asked to explain what the Bang Brothers website was about, as the defendant claimed it featured people smashing RC cars into each other. Other similar questions made me look like a total perv.

I’ve never had one of those and now I kinda want one, except now my hair is too thin to warrant getting one

So now I just stick to my Surge™️ Extreme Citrus-Flavored Soft Drink bucket hat, as ham-fistedly shown in the ‘90s thread

Speaking of stupid garbage direct from a carnival in Dry Hump, OH, I have a cousin who had this hat in the ‘80s.

I imagine he would wear this to all sorts of functions, from family reunions, to church, to the DeVry Class of 2000 commencement (major in VCR repair), to a job interview with the county jail (where he was also incarcerated for vehicular manslaughter), to the birth of his daughter, to the funeral of that daughter from a firecracker “accident”, to his own funeral from a firecracker “accident” at his daughter’s funeral…

Oh no
Longer than that but not much. Fresh batteries definitely would get you through a football game. Most of the ones I saw were at the stadium (back when there was no instant replay).

The FD-210 watchman (the very first one) draws an incredible 1,8 watts at 6v (4x AA battery). So that would mean that from the average 1500mAh alkaline battery of those days, you'd get about 4 to 5 hours of viewing time.

I didn't check for the rest of the watchman line.
