The announcement has zero details of what the new game would have, just that it's coming and you should be excited. It wasn't very subtle, at all, even to a guy who doesn't play the game.

I played Dave the Diver pretty intensely for 15 hours and then it got completely sidelined for Jagged Alliance 3. I enjoyed Dave and will finish it, but it started to get very repetitive around midgame (I'm at Chapter 6 and just finished stealth mission on the eco terrorist fort and I feel I might be close to finishing story? dunno) and there's quite a lot of busywork managing all your facilities at that point. Some of these processes should be automated more, although I will say that getting some good employees will make dinner service a lot more streamlined (I never got the hang of pouring beer, so it's good they do that for me). But their maximum level is 20 and I'm maybe at 5, and that tells me you need a LOT of money to max them out. For example, I haven't managed to craft any other weapon upgrades than the Tranq gun. I haven't got any special ingredients by playing normally, so I can only assume their drop rate is low and need to be farmed. For me that's not the best game design, I feel like you should at least get enough to do SOME upgrades just with normal gameplay. There's also a lot more dangerous sea creatures appearing even in the shallows now so I feel like I should probably have better gear at this point. Swimming back and forth the sea people town to do quests isn't really very engaging either.

While we don't know the final roster count Harada's said it will be "larger than average" for a fighting game (T7 console/PC release was like 30?) and they're remaking everything from the ground up for the new engine
