Hi-Ace in English, Haiēsu in Japanese

In Malaysia and nearby they're like a quarter step down from a Mercedes S Class, usually spotted doing 95mph down the highway, or at least that was my experience

Behind the front axle would make it behind the seats, making it mid engine right?

That's a sports car

And yeah, majority of the the little kei trucks are mid engined, rear wheel drive too. There's a reason they stick bike engines in them and go skidding.

Pretty incredible that speeds like that are possible on wind power.

I would like to note that 38 knots is also the official top speed of the SS United States, which is a thousand foot long ocean liner. It took 240,000 HP to hit that speed, making her the most powerful ship in the world outside of US aircraft carriers.

While I was googling to find out what the little personal hydrofoil sailboats I used to see in Toronto Harbour are called (Moths) and how fast they can go (35kts), I found out there's a thing called a kitefoil that will do 55kts and they're looking to go even faster.

Earlier this year, the Team New Zealand America's Cup squad set a new wind powered land speed record:
https://www.stuff.co.nz/sport/other-sports/131747199/team-nz-break-world-land-speed-record-again

225.58 km/h in 42 km/h of wind. (121.8 knots in 23 knots).

Related, I saw one of the America's Cup foiling cats out on the water the other day, and it's still mindblowing how fast they can move across the water.

Absoltuy amazing for sure and mind blowing just how fast a foiling multi hull can go - For me tho more amazing that a non foiling deepwater ocean racer monohull can blast across Bass Straight at over 60kph.

Pretty impressive for a Silvia. I'd expect the sedan *on* the trailer to be better at towing (if it weren't set up for drifting, obviously.)
One thing to note, though: I'd expect that Europeans build the trailers with towing with a not-giant-pickup in mind. I notice a lot of aluminum trailers in Euro towing (which is great - wish those weren't so hyper-expensive here.)

Oh, man, those two first-generation RX-7s in the thumbnail...
That's the style I want for mine. Early IMSA wide bubble flares rather than a full widebody. Both of those are an SA22C like mine, but the black one has a nose that replaces the steel bumper, while the white one still has the original bumper.
Also, mmmm, straight six noises.

That's a Soarer/SC for sure. It would be incredibly daft to do with a S chassis. They're just too light.

For what it's worth it was built by Mazda themselves as a parade car when the baseball team they own made the playoffs.

https://jalopnik.com/mazda-made-roof-ess-rx-8-for-japanese-baseball-players-1850674513

It was also built a few years after the RX8 went out of production, which seems odd. I would have expected them to chop the roof off a Mazda6 or something that would have been current at the time but what do I know.
