There's an entirely different intro to the movie that involves T.S., dressed as a colonial musket-man for a themed ball, accidentally shooting at the governor of New Jersey (played by Elizabeth Ashley). As such, a lot of dialogue in the theatrical version is changed to remove references to T.S. being seen on CNN.

I think it's worth a rebuy, this is probably the best it will ever look. And if it makes you feel any better, I had to go to best buy at midday on a weekday to get a copy they wouldn't ship, and it was a real parade of freaks in there. The lady who took 45 minutes to pay for a $300 air conditioner by slowly fishing each single dollar bill out of her purse was my personal favorite. Neon's releasing a 4K anniversary remaster of it in theaters next week. I think it'll get a physical media release soonish, but I wouldn't expect it announced until that theater release run ends at least Same thing (albeit different distributor) happened with Irreversible earlier in the year; the straight cut premiered in a February theater run that lasted until mid-April, and then Vinegar Syndrome announced a Bluray of it in May

There's a huge untapped market for some great movies that just isn't really being served. I'd kill for Tokyo Tribe in a format that isn't a $144 Blu Ray, or any official release of Antiporno. I was going to say “think of all the Miike movies that have come out in the past ten years that didn’t get any American release!” But it turns out he’s mostly been doing live action magical girl tv shows. But still, 20 years ago those shows would have gotten US DVDs with “from the director of Ichi the Killer and Audition” on the cover bigger than the title of the show.

The VinSyn box that put me in the hole last month arrived today Erin M. My store has, since I picked up TotK back at the end of May, gotten rid of their checkouts. They had no regular bags either, "we just have the big bags" and I, feeling salty, took a big bag. The girl at the CS desk (the only place you can check out now) was on her phone and had no fucks left to give. If you don't want to be a store, then close your doors and stop pretending. Goddamn.

My laptop would grow a set of fingers just to use the middle one if i tried to play an hd movie on it. If I ever went that route I may just use an old 360 (does RRoD mean the whole system is hosed or just the part that plays games? That would be a neat way to go.)

Do hd-dvds suffer from accelerated disc rot or something? Last time I tried to watch (a brand new) disc, it was skipping throughout the movie.
