ok i think this is still stupid, but not as stupid as i thought originally so twitter parses news links into a "card" which sits beneath the post, and which has the picture, headline and a summary in it.  the card text is the bit he's getting rid of. so you can still have text, in the post part. will make it more annoying for news social media managers for like a week, until they come up with a workaround to automate the post text, basically reverse-engineering the card system. anyway it's an incredibly dumb thing to fixate on, or to think that "fixing" will make anything better, in terms of income, user experience, or advertiser satisfaction. he's pretty dumb.
