Musk is confident in not appearing hypocritical here in case he will functionally retain the ability to "block" in terms of banning people from the site, even if the actual block feature is removed for everyone else. The moves only purpose is to consolidate his own power.

It's generally kind of quiet there, yes. I follow a few people on there that are also on Twitter and most of them just post on Twitter still. Only a handful of people I followed on Twitter have mostly moved to Bluesky.

If anyone has a code I'd be curious, although I've never really posted on Twitter and Mastodon helped me affirm that I just have no interest in open social media like that. I just like to browse occasionally, but Twitter is hell for that and the Mastodon circles I've found have all been a little bit too mild to be interesting.

When your invite is accepted you get auto notified what their name is so you can follow them. Also once you get invited you randomly start getting codes to pass out. Not sure if its based on time passed or your usage but i passed out 2 codes this month.

I don't know where else to post this, so sorry if this is off-topic. I just forum-searched intitle:social media and this looked like the best fit. I'm trying to permanently delete all my social medias because they are bad for my brain. I've immediately hit a snag with instagram. I'm already logged in, but they want me to enter my password for deletion. I lost the password. The links they send me to reset the password are instantly expired. Happens in chrome, firefox, and on mobile. It helpfully redirects me back to the instagram login page, and that's it! Is there another way to reset it? Am I just hosed? What a loving piece of poo poo.
