Speaking of beach related poo poo.

Still no word on where Musk is getting his water from for his rocket deluge system AND where that runoff is going to, it's going into wetlands and it's considered polluted water.

Which if ends up sorting out is a massive no no that could run into breaking more federal laws. My cynicism says that won't happen because they want/need Musk to get his poo poo together to put people on the moon for..... reasons.

https://blog.esghound.com/p/elon-musk-really-hates-getting-permits

It's better explained in that substack by a guy in Houston who specializes in environmental stuff.

Under the sub-heading of "SpaceX permit Woes"

Based on the new New Yorker piece by Ronan Farrow, it seems like the government kinda has its hands tied as it relies on SpaceX too much and has to flatter Musk.

So we can expect the FAA to completely roll over on all the bullshit SpaceX is pulling at Boca Chica.

This is sadly not surprising and I kinda figured this was the case. Love Farrow's pieces when they come out.

Like has NASA been way too entrenched in the military and military industrial complex to move more efficiently on getting space exploration done?

NASA's budget is too limited to do extensive LEO and not LEO cool poo poo so they wanted to offload the getting to LEO part to the private sector because simply appreciably raising NASA's budget by percentage of total spending will apparently never happen.

NASA has been gutted by years of conservative governance intentionally kneecapping government programs in order for barely competitive private companies to stand a chance. SpaceX is about 60 years behind NASA right now and will continue to flounder because that's the goal when 'pro business' 'small government' types get elected to federal office.

I can't even entertain him as a NeverTrumper Republican alternative when he voted against impeachment when he had the chance. You can't take that vote when you don't even plan on running for re-election and then act like you have some ethics over partisanship position in this race.

Yes. NASA's budget has basically stayed flat since 1958 in constant dollars which equates to huge cuts.

Last page and we've moved on but. . .

When we had Snoop at the Hobby Center in downtown Houston, the building told his guy, basically:

"It's a $10,000 fine for every dressing room you smoke in"

"Are you telling me that Snoop Dogg can't smoke in his dressing room?"

"No, I'm saying it's $10,000 per dressing room. . .so pick one"

When we went to load in the next show, they had a dressing room completely gutted, ceiling tiles out, all the furniture was out, carpet was out, poo poo off the walls, and there was a guy in there painting.

Funny (to me) is that it was the same dressing room Mayor Turner had just been using earlier in the season.

No I don't think so, those two are the only ones I've seen confirmed. ALso it would be bizarre as hell to fire just those two, they are two of the best reporters on staff. McCullough has been covering the Texas prisons AC problems for like 3 years at this point. It may be that they have too much seniority, and therefore too much salary, and the dark secret of the Tribune is they've always leaned on fresh-outta-J-school reporters to keep labor costs down.

I wonder how much of a cost outlay their access journo dicksucking tribfest is

The rest of the country kinda wants Texas to melt down its grid because they believe the poo poo Greg Abbott says about our energy production instead of looking at the rising renewable numbers

Turns out the rest of the country has lovely infrastructure too and now they're terrified

The circumstances that led to a grid collapse in 2021 were unique. Half of the state's electric generation capacity disappeared over a period of a few hours. This is not something that is contemplable during the summer.

Also maybe we should be investigating whether or not gas suppliers artificially cut supply to drive up prices, as both KS and OK are doing as we speak, but then we might get to the actual source of the problem and since the actual source of the problem accounts for a good portion of the state economy and political donations, I wouldn't bet on it.
