His 2014 season in Sao Paulo was pretty unremarkable, and while he started great by the end he really looked out of gas, so it was just the usual thing of near retirement players. And don't get me wrong, people aren't currently watching MLS either. But those videos where they focus on messi walking up the pitch with no one within 5 meters of him, only for him to do a light jog and score get shared a lot as a joke.
