It isn’t exactly the kind of tech I normally see recommended, but I really enjoy Mr Carlson’s Lab He’s an old school electronics repairman, without the ashtray stuffed with cigarette butts. He mostly focuses on radio receivers, going back to the dawn of the technology. If you have any interest in circuit design or soldering, it’s a great watch and you can learn a lot about some obscure topics. I hate that I dipped into the LTT reddit to see what the initial drama was all about, now I keep getting poo poo from that subreddit popping up and all I can say is that it looks like LMG can fall right back into their old habits without any concern because GN is apparently worst than Hitler and Satan's lovechild all because he didn't reach out to Linus about the Billet Lab prototype before making the initial story (all while conveniently ignoring both the rest of the issues and that it's not like LMG reached out to Billet about the prototype before putting up their hit piece in the first place). Just a whole bunch of sock-and-sandals lickers who believe Linus is the second coming of Jesus.

That’s kind of it, really. LTT did do a WAN show anyways but only accessible to their backers. GN are back to their regular content although they did put up a video about their editorial policies which they then pulled right away. By all reports it was a pretty dry 40 minutes of listing their journalistic practices with only a couple references to LTT but it was probably a little too on the nose. Think they said it was better to release it some months from now - their policies are already posted on their site anyways. That’s probably it, unless Linus puts his foot in his mouth again or the harassment allegations result in some kind of lawsuit. I expect LMG will announce a change in direction or shake-up of their channels some months from now. They aren’t going to lose a massive amount of money from the whole kerfuffle. but they have a lot of liability tied up in the labs they built and need to get some returns from it. Conventional logic would be to spin off and rebrand that part of the business, although they probably gotta keep “Linus” in the name somewhere. I've blocked LTT and all sub channels from my feed. I had already unsubscribed months ago because the content was getting way too meta and unfocused, like all the merch videos, his janky house, and the lab building. And now I have no reason to watch actual tech reviews because they are based on rushed, flawed, data and assumptions. I'd rather give the other tech tubers who put in more time and work into their videos my viewership than that sandal wearing clown.
