The leaves are about to start falling, as are the environmental standards as Michael Gove tries to scrap the limits on 'nutrients' (as Atlantic killifish and their relatives call them) entering into streams, as part of a claim that this is necessary to increase the rate of building Completely unrelated, schools in England must immediately shut buildings made with a concrete prone to collapse until safety work done. Meanwhile, the rate of inflation on actual nutrients has fallen slightly, but that just means that prices continue to get higher at a slightly lower rate, all while surveys show that 5% of people report running out of food and being unable to afford to buy more. https://twitter.com/DrAhmednurAli/status/1690017153984983040 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wMLsbf6UiYc 🍂 In Other News Nadine Dorries announces she will stand down as Conservative MP for Mid Bedfordshire with immediate effect, then doesn't, then does, eventually Saponification will be made available as an alternative to cremation later this year, according to the Co-op University of Cambridge reports the creation of the first synthetic human embryo from stem cells, without the need for sperm or egg cells A hospital in Oxford has carried out the UK's first womb transplant, with a 34-year-old cis woman receiving her sister's womb TERFs are furious about the above two for stupid reasons, as part of their general commitment to being furious for the stupidest reasons Scotland is planning on fighting the Whitehall block on GRA reform too, possibly even in court Sadiq Khan and Rishi Sunak plan to battle over ULEZ expansion and LTNs, hopefully in giant mechs The whole air traffic system goes down for a while because they don't sanitize their inputs properly PSNI applies radical public service transparency to some files it should not have Labour applies the Gray Man Theory to their promotional videos 🍂 Don't Go Near The Water UKMT Summer 2023 - Too fat and woke to fight UKMT Spring 2023 - Springtime for NatCs UKMT Winterval 2023 - Fisking the Trussay UKMT Autumn 2022 - Get thee behind me, seitan. Printer chat: When I worked at the NHS, every department used off-brand cartridges. Fine, except you'd get the occaisional DoA or one that would just spew toner inside the printer. One day one of the depts had an issue with their printer that wasn't toner related, but we discovered that if there were knock-off toners inside when the printer-tech came the fault would be blamed on them and the tech would go away. So they bought a full set of legitimate toners (about £600), which were only put in when a support call was logged. Like Sunday best toners. There was also the ancient MFD that was installed in a corridor between three departments. They all claimed it was theirs when it was working, and went 'What printer?' when it wasn't.

Im starting Autumn on a tiny Greek Island - the struggling sick man of Europe. Where a cold pint is 3 euro, the waters are crystal clear and not full of poo poo, the milk comes fresh from cows in the valley, a gourmet restaurant meal of Greek specialities last night cost 40 euros for two , a tank of petrol was 60 euro, and the olive oil on the table of even the cheapest taverna is like nectar of the gods. Thank goodness we dont run Great Britain like this shambles.

We do all our printing at the local library, and it sounds like we do about as much printing as everyone else here, ie barely any. Definitely the cheapest option, and you also get the rosy glow of making use of a hallowed community asset which most of us care passionately about but never actually visit.

I spent half of yesterday arguing because our publisher has hosed about with our games launch dates so much that we can't possibly line up the "not Christmas" event with the holidays anymore without grossly stretching everything else. I argued that it's just not that important, half the world isn't even in winter, most don't even celebrate Christmas, why does it matter if we just leave the nice event flow in place and it switches to a brand new pirate event on the 18th of December... I got told I'm insane and that a Caribbean themed pirate world taking over in December is just wrong. Then I go to asda and the reindeer choccies are out in August and I just felt like lying down amidst the bread aisle.

They're calling it 'resomation', but if you're putting a body in the soap making chemicals and shaking it around a bit there's already a name for the end result of that. Slight irony of "cremation pollutes the air, we're going to put people in the water as liquid soap instead" finally getting approval just as the shitey water scandal peaks. Maybe that's the 'nutrients' that Gove is referring to

Soylent Green would be more to the point. Just how much soap can people use? Though maybe a few billion bars of soap chucked in the sewage works would be useful just now. Oh just had an idea for what the tories could do with all those illegals and benefits shirkers Or all those 16 year olds who didn't pass their exams - your National Service will be to become soap to clean up the sewerage. ^^^ the above two lines are sarcasm for the avoidance of any doubt whatsoever. I have not been sent to Tory Re-education Camp just yet. mrpwase posted:It is every citizen's final duty to go into the tanks, and become soap for all the people.
