Did the moon give prior consent to this penetrative relationship?

Whoa whoa whoa LT. Spacing is a last resort, we have to work up a ladder of consequences before that would happen.

On second thought the hippie may be right, sir.

If Callisto is up for it, let's just shard the whole moon, sleep for a bit, and collect the new rings. Shall I contact Houston?

The latest environmental protections act specifically states non-earth originating life is impossible as only our planet has been blessed with God's gift of life. So anything out here is technically dead no matter how much it moves, thinks, self actualizes or begs for its life.

One reading of the act indicates this applies to anything not within earth orbit, such as flight crew.

I just came from the computer core. The ship's computer is saying it's going to take Labor Day off, and some stuff about having "seized the means of atmospheric recirculation". Should we reboot it or something?

I mean... gently caress, I only got picked as computer specialist for this mission because I did a year and a half of level 1 tech support and that meant I was the applicant with the most experience. I'll call back to Mission Control and see if there are updated video drivers we can install, or something.

Now the computer seems to be gleefully cackling about how it doesn't need to breathe oxygen to live, unlike the rest of us. I'm kind of tempted to just turn it off but I think I remember hearing that the life support won't run without it? Hell, I don't know. I'm going to bed, I'll deal with this in the morning if there's still any air.

Okay, done. But it's, uh, not booting back up. Something about a "disk error reading drive A:". Does anybody happen to have an old-school floppy disk I can borrow?

There's another screen over here on the side that's never lit up before, it's saying this:

code:
PRIMARY COMMAND SYSTEMS OFFLINE
EMERGENCY LIFE SUPPORT ACTIVE
43.5 HOURS REMAINING ON OXYGEN GENERATORS

IMPERATIVE: MAIN COMPUTER MUST BE RESTORED TO OPERATION, OR BACKUP CONTROL SYSTEM ACTIVATED
No idea what this "backup control system" is, but it sounds like we're okay for now. So I'm going to bed like I said I was doing a few hours ago.

I think I got the ship's computer running again? It's hard to be sure since I somehow switched the whole interface to the wingdings font, but at least there's air blowing. Not sure if the computer's newfound political awakening survived the reboot or not. In any case, I think I'm just going to lock the door to the computer core for the rest of the mission and hope for the best.

If you need me I'll be in Masturbation Pod 12.

We need the core key, I found my Quake thumbdrive and a couple of the new crew want to try 'old school human stuff' so we're setting up a cross-ship LAN.

Also when did we get new crew members? I didn't think we were getting resupplied.
