Think poster means Kupyansk area.

UA hammered four advances a few weeks back. One advance did capture some stuff but it's been retaken. Day to day, Russia is actually moving forward but we are talking a few metres per day at best. You're not hearing anything because very little is happening but Russia is inching forward.

Do they think a drone just bounces off when hit?

My understanding is the water-filled tires can help mask the plane’s heat signature. There’s apparently this missile that flies to the target area by gps and then tries to acquire a target by referencing the shape of a heat signature against an internal database and locking on if there’s a match.

The tires could be a low-cost way to somewhat combat that.

I'm skeptical about the effectiveness of this camouflage because I think the tires don't hide the contours of the plane at all.

It will be revealed that somehow the junk tires festooning plane wings in Siberia are less dry rotted than the average rubber under a BMP currently in the Donbas.

I don't know for sure but this doesn't seem to logically make sense.

The sun will heat those water filled tires up eventually just like it will the plane and water retains heat for a long time vs aluminum or steel. Might actually make things more dangerous for those planes if the drones are sent in at night.

The outer edges are the defining features for these planes too and they don't have the tires on them. Just the center portion or wings. So I don't see how what you're saying would work out either way. If it did they'd be using heat resistent tarps instead of tires right? They already have those for some of their tanks.

And from that example you posted earlier it doesn't seem like some tires on the wings are going to make a difference anyway compare to the variability that's already there

No but keep attacking the guns until the armor parts then target the glowing weak spot with a super missile.

Well it turns out that the geo-location of the Russian drone crashing in Romania was accurate. Romania says it doesn't think it was intentional which it probably wasn't. But isn't that like saying "Well Russia was aiming at Ukraine but hit us instead. Whoopsies I guess!"

I think we'll keep covering up anything short of a full invasion in order to avoid having to actually actually confront russia directly in any way. Whoops our base full of F-16s just blew up, must've been swamp gas!

No-one starts direct confrontation because of one drone losing signal or going crazy and crashing into neighboring country, and no-one sane is blaming anyone else than Russia for causing these events.

This is now what, third time some other country is bombed because of the war?

Yeah, it's not like board-game rules where causing one token of damage to a players tile initiates the apocalypse round.

Third by my count - Ukrainian drone AA missile that was downed and killed two in Poland, debris found months after the fact in Poland and this Romanian debris, and that's not counting missiles over the airspace of Romania and more commonly Moldova*.

*Which isn't a NATO member, but still worth noting here.
