i haven't played witcher 1 and they're remaking it so i don't think i will, would rather play the remake fresh witcher 2 and 3 are great though it's a shame for people who can't get into witcher 3 cos i think it's easily the best of these open world fantasy games story wise. it's got the advantage of having dozens of interesting characters already in existence with histories, but it's smart enough not to waste a lot of time on explaining things and you just get swept up in how alive it all feels. it's sleazy at times yeah (which isn't a criticism), but it's also one of the more adult fantasy epics around. or maybe you just bounce off it in white orchard cos the gameplay's kinda wobbly and it doesn't put it's best foot forward storywise either roomtone fucked around with this message at 23:56 on Sep 20, 2023 |

Yeah I'd actually really like a polished HD version of Oblivion, even if it meant no mods because I'd only play it through maybe twice. Same for FO3. But it won't be polished, everything will be AI upscaled, and there will be new bugs and probably new cosmetic DLC. And maybe they'll pull a Rockstar and pull the old versions of the game off every platform

And that tying your character down to the Vault 101 backstory was better for roleplaying than the blank-slate protagonist of New Vegas. I bet he'd pre-order it.

Witcher 1 is a miserable experience to play and the only reason you should is out of turbo fandom of The Witcher as a franchise or of an immense curiosity in weird mid budget eastern European RPGs.
