To mix my threads in the culture thread someone pointed out that Connery was 32 when he played Bond but looks about 42. The point being that you don't get people like that anymore, well look at Seb there.

When I looked up their ages I got results for SaTC, all of whom are now the same sort of age as the women in The Golden Girls

Tree-planting was in the 2019 manifesto therefore it is current Labour policy to embark on a sensible, electable policy of tree-felling.

One person doing it as a hobby could plant tens of thousands of trees. If I was in Britain that's what I'd do, it's really easy to have seedlings growing in those cardboard egg cartons. All those extinction rebellion guys, you'd think some of them would be up for some guerilla gardening.

I'm a big fan of some of the park areas in cities here where there's either no trees at all, only trees along the edges of the park, or 2-3 token trees only. They're nice for 3-4 days in the Summer and end up as muddy messes most of the year otherwise.

Planting lots of trees whilst not a terrible plan of itself is not the same thing as creating viable and sustainable habitats.

As someone who lived in Bristol with it mostly being 20MPH, it’s fine, you just need to consider the fact that you might not be able to overtake cyclists and that should be fine with people as they can’t overtake motorbikes and same thing.

There's so many potholes round my way you'd need caterpillar tracks to go over 20mph anyway.

being able to overtake cyclists in an incredibly unsafe manner that almost kills them is the bread and butter of the british motorist. why would you buy a bmw if you're not allowed to do this?
