The scarlet letter was her passport into regions where other women dared not tread. Shame, Despair, Solitude! These had been her teachers, stern and wild ones, and they had made her strong, but taught her much amiss.

Fun Shoe

This is my lottery-win dream car right here. Preferably in that lovely dusty blue (which iirc Citroen actually calls 'larch green'), but an early-1960s ID19 Break with the buff 'elephant hide' seats, the Venetian Blinds in the rear windows and the 'bullet' spotlamps on the front would be heaven.

Here are some classic race support vehicles/transporters that I snapped at various Goodwood Revivals:

And, because I came across them while digging those out and they are awesome, the racing Tatra 603:

And the racing Traco-Rover P6:

Good Guys Lone Star Nationals was this past weekend.
Lots of pictures - here are the albums:

Something for Steve French:

There were several other very nice Firebirds and Trans Ams there.

Straight 8 - only one I saw

Lots of '55 Chevys - I particularly liked this 150 post coupe:

straight 6 and 3-speed on the column.

Patina'd Belaire

Bunches of C10s and squarebodies.
Here's one that was stockish on the outside, except...

I rather liked the indian blanket upholstery.
So, that gas door you see on the driver's side? There's one on the passenger side, too. And their both actually exhaust flappers. Kinda neat.

And this Blazer caught my eye:

This CJ5 was just silly. A perfect '70s Street Freak:

Blower surge for days.

Frame notched for header clearance:

This was neat.

Clear-coated bare steel, but the clear coat had a grey tint in it to tone it down.

Saw this '56 last month at the Hot Wheels show:

Olds corner:
1970 Rally 350 in stock condition:

'67 442:

another '67 442:

'72 442 "tribute":

(the stripes on the trunk are incorrect...)

...and that's a goddamned Chevelle shifter.
Other than that, I really liked this car. It's a post coupe like my '70. I like the modern stereo in the console, and the factory radio opening covered by the correct grain trim all the way across the dash (the woodgrain strip,) and the blacked out trim.
Stance and fitment were good. LSx, so meh, but whatever. I'm not a fan of vinyl tops, but it was OK.

This '70 wasn't even actually in the show - it was in a lot by one of the internal restuarants.

Basically, it's my car, except pillarless coupe, and gold with gold interior (mine was silver with black.) Bench seat!

Clean Pinto wagon:

Incredibly well done early Cherokee:

Someone was clearly a fabricator.
I mean, look at the attention given to the overflow line/tank:

Not even sure how this got in, but I like it:

Patina.jpg:

Rambler!

Road racing Cougar:

Loved this '63 Conti:

It's not black!

Impressive '63 Impala:

Small block?

Nope - look closely:

Stock upholstery on aftermarket seats:

Real knock-offs:

Faux Guy:

Not one, but two supercharged first gen lightnings:

The coolest kiddy car:

LOTS more pics in the albums.
Any questions, ask!

Awesome pictures, great post.

I really like that Impala, but the no-poo poo safety-wired knockoffs must be a pain in the rear end to deal with.

Edit: also, it would have been cooler if they'd made it look like a 409 instead of a small-block :colbert:

Good point - I don't know if anyone makes the adapters to do the W engine covers. I've only seen faux small and big-block.

I forgot to get a picture 'round the back.
It had wheelie bars, but the friend with me observed that they were really too short to be useful. Like stuck out maybe a foot or 18" past the tires.
I assume it can barely *keep* from doing wheelies.

edit: they drove it around a bit while I was there. I'm not kidding about the blower surge, but it was drivable. In a parade/parking lot, at least.

I like their novel "lift kit" that retains all the stock equipment for the front axle

The builder clearly is dictating a very opinionated ride height and tire profile F/R

I sort of wish it had running boards that morph into fender flares as they move forward, without curving up at all.

I just sold my Model 3 and bought a Volvo S60 Recharge. Holy poo poo, was that an upgrade. The Volvo adaptive cruise is amazing (I did not have any of the self-driving enabled on my Tesla), and even though I was apparently spared the rampant panel gaps and things just falling off on my Model 3, the fit and finish on the Volvo is so much nicer.

I really liked my Tesla and had had no problems at all with it. Nothing fell off, and it never tried to kill me or anybody else, but it was also half the cost of my Volvo.
