Honestly the only people who see an issue with characters like Mario or Peach turning into an elephant are those who are pornsick. Like the character turns into an elephant and it's like sirens are blaring inside their head because they immediately see it as a sexual thing and "oh my god how could they do that" when it's literally just a funny animal transformation that makes children laugh because it's so wacky. You recognize it as a sexual thing because your head is full of porn, I'm so sorry for you and your lame rear end brain.

On reflection, I think one of my favorite small things Ender Lilies did that more games should consider is that the main character doesn't take fall damage, but the enemies do. This playthrough would've been a lot less funny if I didn't have the ability to leap up and clobber something so hard I spike it into the ground for twice the initial damage

Or it's the other way around and they accidentally have RTGI enabled but say it's SSGI.

The “30 fps w/ ray tracing” modes in PS5 games look like dogshit compared to other games that run at 30 fps because they use insanely aggressive motion blur to try and make the image look smooth but it has the opposite effect and makes it painful to look at

Wonder should be interesting because I heard the philosophy was to give no deadline and let the devs put in whatever madness they could think of. Probably the only way you end up with something that feels significantly different than a bunch of SMM2 levels tbh I watched like 20 minutes of someone playing it and even that was enough to see some weird and interesting poo poo

its strange, i don't really get motion sick irl or anything but games that have really lovely small fov and bad motion blur usually make me start to feel sick. so first thing i always do is turn off moblur and increase fov by a solid 10+. genuinely dont understand why small fov is always the default

Has anyone here played Disco Elysium? It is mostly text based. It reminds me a lot of Planescape Torment. I found the storyline and setting to be interesting and thought that the game had touching things to say about Communism. It makes fun of communism but in this melancholy way that only a communist could really say. There's a quest line where the main character, who is a police man, tries to join a communist movement. The vanguard party only has two members, due to in fighting and people's unwillingness to do the reading homework. The two insist the main character read a long and boring book about a subject called "inframaterialism" a fictional psuedo science about imagining things into existence that parodies some of the USSR's intellectual dead ends like Lysenkoism and Posadism. It leads to this conversation. A quirk of the game is the main character hears his skills as voices in his head. quote:Rhetoric: The question you mean to ask is both very complicated and incredibly simple... I think about this conversation sometimes. Sometimes I find myself on team asteroid, looking at the cruelty of the world and its inevitable doom and hoping an asteroid will come along and swiftly silence humanity for ever, leading once again to a lifeless and unobserved silent universe. Then I remember this line. The future can be better than the past. The impossible can become real. We can refuse to accept that the world has to remain like this.

I got a little bit into a cheat run with every skill maxed and it was fun, good game to play on ketamine, should get back to it sometime. Lords of the Fallen rocks, it's like what DS3 should have been
