if Isreal didn't exist yet the USA would invent it. the Middle East is too important a region to be left to their own devices. It requires imperial core vassal states that are reliable outposts from which to manage the region, its infrastructure, and the outflow of its resources. I don't see how a Palestinian state is possible without the core losing control of the region altogether
