Yeah I was looking for a different kind of train and found these channels and people were just super hyped for big metal choo-choos and it's kind of infectious.

Being excited about the trains I understand... it's like a big treasure hunt. Watching other people spot trains on the internet is like going birdwatching by flipping through a Sibley's guide...

:rip: to a real train dude

(this is not a video of someone dying, it's a cool train hopper dude that unfortunately did pass away a few years ago)

I used to watch his videos during lockdown when I was working from home. They were really calming at the time. A guy alone with his thoughts and wide open spaces, a stark contrast to the world at the time. Just a weird dude living his best life.

Javelina's aren't pigs. They built an oasis in the desert and they wonder why the native wildlife isn't respecting their property lines.

hiding in plain sight

That looks like the golf course at Seven Canyons Resort, which is a few miles from where I live. I used to do IT work for that property with the old MSP I used to work for. Anyway, screw the golf course. The poor Peccary are just hungry and thirsty. They are mostly gentle and docile animals so long as you leave them alone and don't mess with their young.

Nothing wrong with having a hobby, as long as it isn't hurting anyone. Trainspotting is fine, at least it gets you outside.

It sits in the same category for me as two kinda weird baseball fan hobbies with a lot of overlap. Some people like to keep score with pen and paper while watching baseball, and others bring headphones because they like to listen to the radio announcers call the game while they watch it live in the stadium.
I don't understand it, but if they have fun with it, fine. Also, it's time for people to forgive Bartman

The radio announcers always have more in depth detail about what's going on. The stadium experience is about sound as as atmosphere not information.
