Half of my brother's Warp Coven is old metal sorcerers and 3rd edition chaos marines with the old metal Thousand Sons conversion kit and drat are they tiny. He got some inch tall Egyptian ruin bits for them to stand on to bring up to the right height.

Well, against the advice of the Specialist Thread, I’m going to make a Death Guard Kill Team. I was painting up my Rotbringer Sorcerer and noticed it had some of the same things as Plague Marines- what are the weird pickle ball things that Nurgle dudes have? Why the antlers and bells?

A Death Guard LT can be a Legionary KT! Mono-Nurgle Legionaries are a meta team.

The pickle ball things are censers for spreading miasma instead of incense. The antlers are thorny boughs or just mutant horns, depending. The bells toll for thee, OP (and it's a recurring Nurgle motif).

If you like 3d printing there is a really neat creator out there who does underwater themed Death Guard, the "Dredge Guard" that may be of interest to you.

You are right, those guys are sick as heck, however the Heroes 3 models I ordered wouldn’t fit with them, so I’ll probably skip. Cool designs, though!

Does Nurgle always have the three circles because he’s the third god?

I'm kitbashing the new Terminator Librarian into a Chaos Sorcerer, and I'm a bit annoyed at how big he, and the rest of the new Space Marine Terminators are.

They look so good. Meanwhile my Chaos termies stand a full head shorter than my basic legionaries.

I'm happy, at least, that the Librarian is an easy conversion. I'm tempted to try to convert a whole squad, but there's so much intrinsic detail to Chaos that just can't be swapped in without risking butchering them.

How long ago did the newest Chaos Terminator box go to retail? One would hope there's some chance of them upscaling them good and proper in the foreseeable future.

I just shaved off the Imperial symbols and slapped tusk helmets on the Termies to make them Chaosy. Not every Chaos or Renegade Space Marine is spikey. Heck, there's a whole new batch of Chaos Primaris Marines running around thanks to Khorne.

???

i don't see how this is possible. i just stood a pair of 8e chaos terms next to a legionary from the kill team box (which means it's made of parts from the 8e chaos space marines box) and their eye lines are dead on level.

older chaos terminators, like the plastic ones from 3e-4e with the big goofy bayonets, are shorter. is that it?

Bolters is poo poo the same, but to me lasguns should just be green. Or at least Cadian pattern lasguns.

A legacy from me starting 40k back when 2nd edition was still in print is I still think the regular scheme for any weapon is bright red casing and boltgun metal barrel / magazine / highlights. Maybe some blue glowy bits if plasma.

Not practical if camo? Well I don't know about that. Sounds non codex imperialis to me. Heretic.

I have an epic related question.

I noticed there are larger drills besides the Terrax Pattern Termite Assault drill; aka the Mole & the Hellbore. Edit: I also learned the Plutonasl & Mantolith exist

Does anyone have an idea how long this drill might be if transposed to 40k tabletop? I found a huge drill toy in the thrift shop and am feeling the need to kitbash.

Offhand, no. However its a great idea. Maybe see if you can find some unrelated toys (Chinese knockoffs of Tonka? IDK) with complex drills in those cheap-ish shops that are around, you know what I mean, and browse to see if there is anything you can rip apart for bits.

There's an official kit for the Ordinatus Aktaeus, but I can't find any clear dimensions for it, but a few places sell ~15 inch foam trays to put it in.

Nurgle’s symbol is a stylized fly.

That’s why you often see variants of this less stylized fly in the same arrangement. It’s the head and two wings.

Khorne’s is a skull for those who haven’t noticed

I'm no engineer or physicist so I don't know the right terms for all this stuff but magnets are held together by a directional force (along the axis of the magnets?) and nothing else which means on something like an arm joint where gravity is exerting shear(?) force on the magnets they won't feel anywhere near as secure once weight is added unlike a tank turret where the magnets are in line with gravity. Having the magnets flush means you get at least some friction from plastic on plastic which will reduce wacky swiveling arms a little bit.

If you double stack magnets that will make arms stick better (I did this for my Forgefiend no prob) but you still get freely spinning arms. I've been told that two magnets spaced apart provides enough resistance to rotation at the expense of, well, not being able to rotate it.

If you don't want rotation you may also be able to drill a hole in one of the pieces you're looking to magnetise and then make a peg on the other piece that aligns with the hole. Depends on the shape and size of those parts though.
