Radar Defense Mission

LOCATION : Vasquez Glacier

Intent : Hold the Radar against PLA forces. If not able to hold, destroy it.

Two teams from Bravo 2, Red and Blue, will begin on the southeast coast. Red (At Point 1) will evaluate the situation and hold until unable then move to hold the dome proper (Point 3). Blue (Point 2) will take up defensive positions.

As I recall there was fighting positions at the top of the ridges we can use as an initial defensive point. Bravo 2 can decide this based on the situation.

If unable to hold we will detonate our charges and egress north. towards point 4. Depending on the situation I'd like to split us on each side of the ridge so we can prevent an ambush as we roll to our exit zone. (This may vary depending on the actual exit location.)

ROLAND TEAM : Take up best position. I believe there is a decent rise just west of the radar base that could offer a good view. (Hill 323) But I will leave this up to you. If possible we will try to exit with this asset.

EDIT : To Clarify, Bravo 2 will split into two teams as above. Bravo 1 will defend the dome proper with a scout team at Point 4.

Excellent work today everyone.

Venom 1 and Venom 2 expedited our arrival into the CAP area to support TASMO operations. On arrival, we were vectored to intercept 2x J-11A's by CONDOR. Venom 1-1 and Venom 1-2 engaged the lead ship, and Venom 2-2 engaged the trail with AIM-120C while Venom 2-1 turned defensive. The trail was killed, and the lead was forced to turn defensive, scrubbing their R-27ER lock on Venom 2-1. Venom 2-1 chased down the remaining enemy, killing them before they could engage friendly A-4s on ingress or F-18s on egress.

After this engagement, we reset to our CAP position and provided top cover until all friendly strikers departed before RTB

Mission successful: No friendly aircraft destroyed by enemy fighters. All Venom ships returned to El Calafate.

Like my brother, we had an excellent flight.

At target zone we were tasked to strike a pair of MIG-21's. Both 2-2 and 2-3 bagged a MIG. At that point we RTB'd and everyone landed without issue.

Colt 1 got airborne, flew to our assigned AO, and burned some holes in the sky. We started to return to base at Joker fuel state and made it back just in time. All flight members will be having a gentle discussion about Colt Leader's pre-mission funeral.

Flight was pretty routine. Nice formation keeping from Pyg, in spite of my sometimes sloppy flying as lead.

However, something for command to keep in mind: this was really stretching the legs of the MiG-29s. If we'd been engaged by something we probably would have had time for one or two passes and not much in the way of dogfighting, especially if that something late was a late-mission leaker. We were about to divert to Rio Gallegos as it was. Recommend not having the 29s fly all the way across the region in the future.

Congratulations to the brave CSAD forces who were critical in this combined operation to destroy a PLAN SAG! My condolences to the sailors and aviators killed or missing in action from this battle. Some quick notes below as we work through the PRC reaction and what this means for your fight to preserve your homelands and the combined forces fight against PRC, Russia, and the forces who align with them.

1. The US confirms 1x Type 52B DDG destroyed, 2x anti-ship missile corvettes (Tarantul-class) destroyed, and 1x anti-submarine corvette destroyed (Grisha-class)

2. Initial reflections are that the PLAN was surprised to see your air component flying so far feet wet, were surprised but respected that you would sacrifice so many ships and sailors to entice the SAG into this trap, and they did not expect a combined US-CSAD operation.
2.a. Intercepted communications reflect that the PLAN and higher PLA headquarters are debating whether they should treat your theater as even more of an economy of force mission than they already were, or whether they should commit some of their better forces to air and sea control. This decision point could altar whether the PRC maintains a persistent, but minor presence in your seas or commits some of their battle-hardened and more capable forces to this expedition. Given that attacking CSAD was intended to be a distraction or problem for US/NATO/UN forces, I could see this going either way.
2.b. While details are at a different classification level, I can share with you that as a result of this action, the PRC has taken steps to better preserve their naval maneuver OPSEC in this theater. It is less likely that we will be able to give intelligence that is quite as precise as we were for this operation, which allowed us to collectively amass over 16 strike aircraft and CAP plus supporting aerial assets, ambushing one of their smaller SAGs with only a standing 2-ship CAP defending it.
2.c. I expect they will step up use of GPS jamming, communications jamming, and potentially datalink jamming.

3. We expect that future PLAN operation, aside from defending their ports and sea lanes, may take a few different forms or a combination thereof.
3.a. Episodic deployment of low-signature, highly lethal craft, such as the Tarantul corvettes, which they possess in large numbers, to ambush logistical shipping and your less capable and vulnerable ships. They took note that the Tarantuls were effective in striking your most capable escort air defense ships. The PLAN can likely sortie, fire, and, without early detection, depart faster than sorties could be feasibly generated.
3.b. Episodic or decisive deployment of a more capable SAG, utilizing more modern DDGs and FFGs rather than their second and third-string surface combatants as they did for this operation.
3.c. Retaliatory strikes on your naval or air assets via anti-ship missile aviation or cruise missile attack.

One note of improvement, and please take this professionally. We reviewed the post-flight combat footage and intercepted communications. While all of our Hornets returned safely, our air planner is concerned with the way the escort went and the danger to losing the Hornets on approach or egress from the battle. Now, my aviation background is in rotary-wing aviation, but he tells me that as a pilot certified in F-16C, F-22, and the Gripen, that the F-16 CAP was overly risk averse at risk to the strike package. Now Marines are braggarts, and they said if that J-11 had come any closer, they'd have taken him down easily. However, I am obligated to relay that political and military support for US assets fighting alongside CSAD is predicated on minimizing loss of these forces in a supporting effort theater. We are decisively engaged in this global war, at great cost, in more hotly contested fronts, and if USSOUTHCOM loses assets on loan, we risk losing access to these forces in the future. We will also discuss with the marines that deviating from the plan can risk future operations, even if they feel it is required due to seeing blue forces taking casualties.

Very fortunately, we picked up this pilot's communications, where he reported repeatedly over a hot mic words to the effect of "These buttons, these missiles, they do nothing! They won't shoot! These bastards are right in front of me and I've slipped the CAP, what the gently caress?!" The DDG XO personally cursed the J-11 pilot's family name before abandoning ship.

I believe future US or coalition aviation excursions will be episodic, but operationally significant. Please look for opportunities where US or coalition aircraft such as F-15Es, F-18s, etc could be used decisively to augment your operations.

Thank you for your cooperation on this operation. I think it was a great success and should deter such bold behavior on the PRC's part. Our legal, public affairs team, and political advisor team, in conjunction with the embassy and DOD press office will be in touch with their counterparts to discuss messaging the success of this combined US-CSAD operation.

The Mountain Troop of the Chilean Lautaro Special Ops Brigade has monitored and held the radar site at Vasquez Glacier for days now. Despite it only being autumn, up there it is very cold even with occasional snowfall. The C-130s dropped the Roland SAM vehicle, and some Argentine Paratroopers trained in the use of it. Container of food and basic supplies was received as well.

However, intel points out that the PLAN is intending to attack the site, possibly with the intent of re-capture. It is evident that keeping these radars online is an affair with an expiration. However, right now the Group Commander of the Mountain Troop (forums poster Yooper) has orders to hold the site. The Argentine Air Defenders will be under your command for this mission.

It is not known what direction the enemy will come from, nor how. It is up to you to organize the small team to best prepare for the defence. You will all start at the radar site in the middle, and you will have an unknown time ingame to move to your positions as you deem fit.

The Chilean team will hold what they have. Luckily now there is no shortage of air dropped ammunition.

The Long Afternoon War - Mission 3 - Pontiac 2 AAR

Flight Members:
Pontiac 2-1 | Prime
Pontiac 2-2 | Lumme
Pontiac 2-3 | Gronank
Pontiac 2-4 | BlueNexa

Tasking: TARCAP
Kills: None
Losses: None
Expended: N/A

Summary :words:

We departed Rio Turbio for a TARCAP around Cesar.

We wanted to get ahead of the strikers so took an aggressive burn to fl35 and proceeded at speed, with an intent to visit the tanker periodically to keep the flight in the fight.

As we approached Cesar, Condor confirmed picture clear so I split the flight so that 3&4 would fill up while 1&2 were on station.

Unfortunately, the flight was unable to raise Shell on its listed frequency and after a period of trying to establish contact we gave up. 2-3 was already joker and recovered to Rio Gallegos, while 4 came to rejoin 1 and 2, and we dumped our tanks to reduce drag and extend what little fuel we still had.

We continued our orbit for some time until we heard Strike had been successful at which point we were relieved by Condor and returned unexpectedly to Rio Gallegos due to the fuel issue stemming from the tankers radio failure.

All of Pontiac 2 landed successfully, and will ferry to Rio Turbio after topping up on caffine to wake us up following a snoozy flight.

--

What went well?
  • We got a lot of practice starting up and got airborne rapidly
  • Lovely formation flying
  • The whole flight landed!! (a first for Pontiac 2 since the breakout of the invasion)

What could have gone better?
  • The tanker not being on the specified frequency (and being on a different TACAN (Y12 rather than X12)) was a big problem for our fuel plan and caused 2-3 to RTB before we'd even hit Cesar as a flight.
  • Some radio battling due to limitations of our Red radio; I'll request a reverse of our Green/Red presets from ground crew for next mission to give us extra flexibility for cases we need to jump frequencies.

To: Col Forsythe, USSOUTHCOM
Subject: AAR, 20 February combat action

Good Morning Sir,

Yesterday's combat mission to support CSAD forces in the South Atlantic theater went mostly as planned, and was overall a complete success. Werewolves sunk 2x PLAN Taruntul-class corvette, and crippled the PLAN Type 52B with 2-3 successful harpoon strikes. Follow on and concurrent strikes by partner forces secured the complete destruction of the PLAN SAG, including the damaged Type 52B.

We experienced some minor coordination confusion regarding the link-up point with partner forces, and were forced to urgently expedite our strike because of imminent threat to CSAD carrier fleet. Werewolves adapted admirably and launched a synchronized strike from within the WEZ of the PLAN Type 52, ensuring maximum impact of the combined Harpoon salvo.

One area we could work to improve for future joint operations is the accuracy of relayed information regarding partner support assets at our disposal. The provided information on AAR assets turned out to be incorrect, and we were given several false "corrections" before locating our assigned tanker mostly through guessing at TACAN channels and attempting to corelate with radar tracks IVO the expected tanker location. In the resulting confusion one of our flight members came within several hundred pounds of having to declare a fuel emergency and land at our emergency divert airfield GAL.

Future mission planning should take into account CSAD hesitancy to operate in the area of hostile air defenses. Sir, you should have heard their strike coordinator panic when we actually entered the WEZ of the PLAN destroyer, wish I could hang that radio traffic on the Squadron Wall of Honor.

ATTN CSAD CMDR - Ground Forces

Dome Defense

CMDR, we deployed around the dome proper in anticipation of PLAN forces counter attack. Bravo 2 held the east side with Bravo 1 in the center and west. The Roland deployed to the west of the RWR dome. Initial contact was a recon fast mover followed by some MI-8's in the east that dropped off several squads.

This group was dealt with in a timely fashion however other groups came in from the south, west, and north. Contact became continual and Bravo 2 pulled back to the dome. The Roland did great work destroying a large quantity of enemy units as well as knocking out several MI-8 attack helicopters. Sporadic naval fire was accurate but not timed well by PLA forces to take advantage of the suppression.

Bravo 1 Recon team was lost about this point and the decision was made to pull back to the exfil zone. We broke contact after cresting the north ridge and made good time to the extract.

At this point the facility was detonated. The Roland, unfortunately, had to be left behind and was also destroyed. (I think?)

What Worked

The defensive positions held until we were attacked on multiple fronts.
Our Roland was an absolute animal.
Emplaced M2's did very well, except for the one I broke by disassembling it.
Teams worked well together and, especially on the southern push, coordinated fire.

What Didn't

It was difficult to cover the many approaches with our limited teams.
Communication was a challenge as once we had multiple attacks inbound things were confused quickly.

What to do next time

We initially set up a QRF truck, and then kind of forgot about it. We could have reinforced units quicker had we used it.
I should have been clearer on when to fall back, and when not to. Once things got hot it was pretty much a constant firefight and fall back.
We should have bounded forces on the extract and prevented a quick PLA truck from preventing our escape.

All in all it was a good fight and I think everyone did really great. The Quads continue to provide a laugh and the Roland was a death spewing clown car.

Thanks everyone for showing up, and Jerik/Elendil/Zeph/Vaha for putting these together.

The O'Higgins returns to the operations area. The general situation has remained the same-minesweeping operations at the channel mouth, and enemy supply movements coming from Ushuaia into the channel.

Figuring that their probably steaming at 7 knots, and the intel that they will probably transit near the shore give me a decently narrow intercept line. 60 nautical miles form this point, we dive deep just off the continental shelf and rush at 8 knots to the location. 7 hours pass without much of a contact, besides radar emissions off of Tarantuls near the mine clearing area.

But closing on our intercept-and almost perfectly on time-we catch something on sonar.

10 nautical miles out. It takes a few more miles to identify him positively as a hostile-a type 74, a tank landing ship-capable of ferrying two MBTs, 350 fully equipped infantry or something in between. 600 tons.

Sonar tells us that he is alone, but that can't be right. We drop our speed to two knots and head directly towards the contact, as he creeps past torpedo range circle. I go to periscope depth and before 5 seconds pass we detect two other vessels in close formation with our infrared camera.

We dive again, shallow depth. The targets close and we ID a second. A type 73, a more general landing ship. 500 man capacity at 1400 tons. The third ship is still unheard. It'd have to be a corvette of some kind, for it be so near and so quiet still.

I'm unsure if these ships are at the lead of convoy. Maybe I've gone past their forward escorts. Just as I move to settle on the bottom and let them pass over me, they suddenly change course and begin accelerating. We've been made. Torpedoes away.

At the same time we raise to periscope. Can't allow their escort to continue unmolested, especially since we've already been detected.

We find him and depart 'at speed'. 4 knots.

There's nothing they can do. The Tarantul can't so much as throw grenades into the water against us.

The Tarantul and the Type 74 go up immediately. The heavier type 73 has enough time to abandon ship before it slips below.

We're gone without so much as a sonobuoy dropped in our wake.

Very well.
Game master-wise I got the codes that you sent me.

The Punta Arenas front did not receive reinforcements for a tank brigade. This is the 5th PLAGF Armor Brigade that had requested them. It will likely disrupt their movement for a few days or more.

THe way this works with Command:Modern Operations is that the end-result of the 24h block produces number codes that correspond to certain events and I have the answer key.

quote:

Location: A dimly lit bar in the vicinity of Port Arenas.

Officer A (Frustrated): (in Mandarin) Have you guys heard the latest? We've lost several supply ships at sea, and I can't believe the mess it's causing.

Officer B (Agitated): (in Mandarin) Yeah, it's a nightmare. Our logistics chain is in shambles. Those supply ships were carrying everything from fuel, ammunition, and medical supplies, and now they're at the bottom of the ocean.

Officer C (Annoyed): (in Mandarin) And what's worse, we can't confirm if it's enemy action or just an accident. The timing couldn't be worse, though. Our operations are already stretched thin.

Officer D (Concerned): (in Mandarin) Our troops on the ground are going to feel the brunt of this. They rely on those supplies, and now they'll have to make do with less.

Officer A (Resigned): (in Mandarin) We must figure out a plan to mitigate the impact. We can't afford to let this disrupt our mission.

Officer B (Thoughtful): (in Mandarin) Maybe we should consider diversifying our supply routes. Relying solely on these exposed routes was bound to bite us sooner or later.

Officer C (Skeptical): (in Mandarin) That's easier said than done. We need a secure route, and rerouting supplies will be a logistical nightmare.

Officer D (Worried): (in Mandarin) Well, we don't have much choice, do we? We have to protect the remaining supply ships at all costs.

Officer A (Determined): (in Mandarin) I agree. We need to be resourceful, adapt to these challenges, and ensure our combat operations continue as smoothly as possible. It won't be easy, but we'll find a way.

My analysis based on this intelligence is:

1. The enemy is not as well-resourced as they should be for the current fight.
2. They are digging into their current positions to allow for much-needed resupply of fuel and equipment to be brought forward from the port facilities.

Recommendations:

1. Continue to attack the enemy supply lines. They have to travel through a very narrow fjord/channel to get to Port Arenas. If we can emplace anti-ship missiles or mines in their path. This will cause the front-line formations to lack the required resources necessary to wage war.
2. The enemy supply line is vulnerable to attack and is their Achilles heel.

Ain't much to do
'round here.

Good afternoon General Scholz and Colonel Rivera,

I wish to bring your attention to what is in my opinion a tactical deficiency of our CAP during the actions of 21 FEB 2010, as well as open a dialogue with all interested parties to improve our planning and dynamic response to evolving situations during sorties.

An enemy J-11A was allowed to get into very close proximity to friendly strikers, and it is my opinion that we need to take action to ensure this situation does not happen again.

After reviewing flight telemetry, I believe that the conditions for the enemy fighter to be in a position to engage Jury/Gary/Ford began very early in the sortie, and were only exacerbated by the necessary decision for TASMO to engage the enemy fleet before CAP was established. Note that green lines indicate approximate attack vectors of TASMO flights, while blue lines indicate approximate ingress vectors of CAP.

The result of these CAP ingress vectors was that TARCAP (Pontiac) was ~60 NM south, and BARCAP (Venom) was ~30 NM south of the nearest TASMO aircraft at a critical moment. When Venom engaged 2x J-11A, it was severely out of position because the enemy was to the northeast, and closer to our TASMO than we were. As such, we could not effectively counter the faster accelerating enemy should the initial engagement be any less than decisive. Unfortunately the least desirable outcome occurred: two AIM-120C failed to connect with the lead J-11A, and it went defensive to the north and dove on the strikers. It is incredible fortune that no friendlies were shot down before it could be destroyed.

The blue line through BARCAP indicates the intercept vector given by CONCORD. The purple line indicates a more ideal attack vector that could have been achieved by Venom or Pontiac if CAP vectored directly toward the fleet during ingress.

I take full responsibility for the situational awareness degration of Venom during the sortie. The yellow line is what Venom should have done given the tactical reality at the time intercept was initiated (~100 NM from enemy): Flank the J-11s and position closer to the strikers while the enemy closes to within our engagement range (<40 NM), and only then turn to engage with one element, while the other continues the flank. I recall observing friendlies on datalink, so I should have recommended the above approach to CONCORD.

I welcome any proposals to refine Venom's CAP planning for future sorties.

Thank you for your time,
Comandante de escuadrilla (N.o 3, I) Castillo

Admiral Ileana Maria Sampaio
South American Combined Armada

Naval Situation Update 21 FEB 10:

Our recent successes against the PLAN 3rd Fleet must be celebrated - the sinking of their SAG is surely a strong rebuke of their occupation of the Islas Malvinas. However, it came at a heavy cost: Many heroic sailors aboard the Rademaker, the Defensora, and the Jerônimo de Albuquerque gave all they had to defend our allied nations, and their patriotic sacrifice must be honored. Theirs is a reminder of the immense difficulty of the task before us: To protect our small nations against the massed ranks of the PRC who are armed with the latest weapons. We will need to dig deep to confront this threat.

However, it is good news that even China is struggling to maintain their thinly-stretched supply lines in this globe-spanning war. We will continue hammering those points of vulnerability, again and again, until they are forced to recognize that our continent will never be permitted to become a foothold for their invasion of the Americas.

Logistic Orders:

The Army Depot at Calama, Antofagasta, Chile, has refitted a battery of four MIM-72/M48 Chaparrals and their support vehicles. There is no command unit, but each tracked launcher comes with three 5-ton trucks for replenishment missiles and spare parts. Ground commander Gen. Humberto has ordered that they be delivered on Heavy Equipment Transporters to Puerto Antofagasta some 65 miles away. There, they shall be met by the CNS Aquiles AP-41, a large naval auxiliary cargo and troop ship that is based at nearby Valparaíso, Chile. The equipment shall be loaded on the ship, for delivery to Puerto Montt. There they may be transported via ferry to Puerto Natales, or elsewhere as Gen. Humberto dictates. Note that the CNS Aquiles would also be capable of hauling additional cargo for delivery or transshipment, if American wartime supplies can be routed to the area.

In a similar vein, it appears that UK backchannels are looking for assistance in extricating their carrier the HMS Invincible. While higher ups continue to negotiate the situation, the carrier is at extreme risk of further damage - particularly as the season progresses and the weather grows worse. The South American Combined Armada will send a representative liaison officer to Comodoro Rivadavia to communicate with the British captain of the HMS Invincible directly. Additionally, we authorize the contracting of the Tsavliris Salvage Group, a Greek expert salvor company that operates in Argentina and around the world. Their salvage masters will be airlifted to the carrier to ascertain the current situation of the HMS Invincible and advise on how to free her. Their tugboats Ranquel and Brutus, based in Buenos Aires, will be contracted to travel to the site in anticipation of providing critical assistance.

Additionally, the ARA Bahía San Blas, an auxiliary cargo ship based in Buenos Aires, is to be loaded with the critical supplies and equipment needed by the HMS Invincible, which are currently stored at the Puerto Belgrano Naval Base. The ARA Bahía San Blas will then set sail for Comodoro Rivadavia to deliver those supplies. Finally, the McDermott Corporation based in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, has a wide variety of expertise in dealing with difficult maritime projects - many involving the oil and gas industry. Their Derrick Barge 50 vessel is believed to be available and critical to the effort of freeing the HMS Invincible. SACA shall contract with them and secure the transport and usage of their specialist equipment. Additional resources may be available at the large commercial cargo ports of Puerto Santos, near São Paulo, Brazil, as well as Puerto San Lorenzo-San Martin, near Buenos Aires, Argentina, which have additional cargo barge resources for extracting the stricken vessel. Their employment may be utilized, pending coordination with the United Kingdom and the examination report by the Tsavliris Salvage Group.

Western AO Orders:

The Ecuadorian fleet has sortied from Guayaquil and is joining the fight. As part of SACA, the fleet shall help anchor our southern front. It is ordered to proceed south to the Rennell Islands and Chilean Patagonia (52°46'08"S 75°23'42"W) at all due speed. Their strength will be needed.

The CNS Carrera has also recently been added to our forces, and she is ordered to continue south to WP GRAU and join the CNS O'Higgins in interdicting the Magdalena Channel.

The Chilean Fleet is to continue resupply activity and expect orders for imminent carrier aviation operations. The CNS Aspirante Isaza is ordered to return to the mouth of the Gulf of Xaultegua to act as a picket (53°07'37"S 73°22'49"W).

Eastern AO Orders:

The Brazilian Fleet and the Tupi are ordered to join the Brazilian SAG and reconsolidate.

The Argentine Fleet and the ARA San Juan are ordered to hold position and continue defending Rio Gallegos from the 1st PLAN Fleet.

Further maneuvers will be made, pending SCAD command deliberations.

Great job on dealing with those boats. The local fire departments won't be as busy as before hopefully.

Now it's time to set our eyes back on Punta Arenas. Next operations on Tuesday, February 23rd. It's gonna be a bit windy but I'm sure that's no big deal.

Commence offensive operations of AO BOLT, striking their ground and supply units as much as possible. Also, if the conditions are good enough, consider the BSA at AO ARROW a secondary objective.

Open for ideas. That's all for now.

These will be shipped via a mix of US cargo aircraft and surface vessel, frontloading AT weapons and artillery ammunition. These weapons transfers are not to be messaged publicly. If and when they become public due to use on the battlefield, a condition of being issued the weapons is that the US controls all messaging on this military assistance. This batch was rapidly developed based on expected needs and combat so far, but as your forces shape their requirements, the US may be able to better match our ability to assist with your requirements.

Greetings, colonel. We'll gladly accept the offer. We shall get in touch soon about the means of delivering them.

You will have the support of Admiral Sampaio in this endeavor, as well as the necessary gear from Santos harbor in Brazil and Puerto General San Martn in Argentina.

The Invincible is escorted by something like 5 Type 23 Frigates and some weird Scandinavian frigate design. All of them have tons of effective SAM's and CIWS capabilities(unlike our navy's vessels). It's probably a waste of a cruise missile for them. They'd be better off getting a diesel submarine in close and throwing some torpedos it's way tbh

Collection has been hampered by overcast skies, but we have indications of roving corvette patrols and signal indications of at least one Type 54 FFG. Bulk Carriers and freighters are unloading troops and equipment, and one oiler broadcast in the clear for navigation purposes until arriving at port. PRC forces seem to be struggling with the tension between efficient unloading and using passive defenses to minimize the risk of strikes on port activities. We are seeing some evidence of rapid checkout offsite then movement either to the front or to reception and staging areas further from the port. Unfortunately, we have not identified any new, obvious targets for strikes, just evidence of equipment movement along both improved and newly appeared tank/truck trails across the hard, and mostly dry ground.

There are clear indications of at least one Buk TELAR operating in/around the port at Punta Arenas. Unable to get accurate grids, just that it is in vicinity of the port. Additional Buk emissions detected nearby, possibly doing system checkout before moving to battalion operating areas and battle positions.

Requesting any available intelligence for AREA OF INTEREST (AOI) pictured below. POINTS OF INTEREST (POI) are Puerto Williams and Ushuaia and everything within a 15 NM radius. Im looking for Vessel movements, troop movement, and aircraft activity.

Various ASW-corvettes are patrolling the Magdalena and Cockburn channel and inlets, along with ASW helicopters originating from Ushuia. A two-ship of J-11s was detected landing at Ushuaia. They later performed a likely familiarization patrol and returned to Ushuaia. It is unclear if this is a temporary move or setting the stage for J-11s to be semi-permanently rebased to the continent.

Will take for action. Unable to share any information at this time.

Additional information: The PLARF has some shortages with various precision weapons, such as cruise missiles. [OOC: Every nation does in WW3, so don't assume this is unique to the PRC as a challenge]
However, Taiwan's rapid capitulation and embrace of a "one nation, two systems" policy resulted in an abundance of tactical ballistic missiles remaining for China which might have been used to compel Taiwan. Intelligence reports indicate that CSS-7s could be operational in TdF in the near future. Unclear number, but we expect they would not be sent to an immature theater in smaller than a battalion configuration. While not a weapon with specific point-target accuracy, plenty accurate enough to threaten logistical hubs, C2 nodes, airbases, ports, etc. I recommend reviewing your current and future passive air defense measures to mitigate the effectiveness of these weapons.

The US remains committed to its alliance with the the UK and working alongside the Royal Navy. Royal Navy sailors are a highly professional fighting force, and the grounding of the HMS Invincible is an ongoing challenge. While this grounding occurred in the USSOUTHCOM AOR, and we are dedicated to assisting, this matter should be taken up with the Government of the United Kingdom.
