I'm fairly sure they completely repaved most of the track's route within the past 6 months. This guy has a lot of video showing the track surface, also it's clearly carrying low speed road traffic, and is rather shiny lol

The route is 99% new pavement I believe, and yes, it has been absolute hell for anyone visiting Las Vegas in the past 8 months.

I'm impressed that it appears to switch drastically between two kinds of pavement right at the apex of turns where it goes from stuff that's been paved and blocked off to stuff that's been repaved and carrying traffic for months. Do the race experts itt have experience with that they're able to share?

Here's a video of a guy actually walking the track (apart from where you can't get), but it was 9 days ago, there's probably a better one now. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BE_UeclTI1o&t=1s

I think the Blizzak is overhyped since most people are driving in the winter in what’s more like iceyor mixed conditions, not actual deep snow. For this reason I present for consideration the Michelin X-Ice 3 for more usual winter conditions.

When I bought my X-Ice’s years ago the differentiating thing I heard from owners who had tried both is that Blizzaks wear really fast. I’m on season like six of my X-Ices and they’re great, though also I put very little mileage on my car in the winter since I live very close to essentials and don’t take any road trips.

Considering 90% of people are not giving a poo poo after the drivers’ championship is decided, all the calendar dates left should revert to stupid gimmick races, like Las Vegas, F1 Pikes Peak, a race track shaped like an 8 with a jump on the crossing and, I dunno, a Forza Horizon Hot Wheels track over an active volcano caldera.

Since Red Bull is already involved in F1 just merge the Red Bull flugtag with F1 and push the years car off of a ramp into a lake at the end of the season.

turning a car into an artificial reef would be the only eco-conscious thing F1 has ever done

What do you think the difference between winter and all season tires and do you think the same properties also apply to racing tires 🤔

There’s a few of those videos with people actually walking the track but it takes a long time in reality so can’t blame him that much. Three or four miles on city streets with traffic.
