I think the metrix tests should add a minimum and maximum line so you aren't playing The Price Is Right with your spit. gently caress.

That said, I think the swabs are the way to go (as long as you go low&slow). Even if you then swab the back of the throat a little too. In the testing used to validate the tests, the saliva was definitely less sensitive than the swabs, though not a huge difference.

You can even use one of those kids medicine syringes to extract the extra if it’s close.

Scanned a brain mri on this lady who's apparently just been cycling covid for years and I don't know what the gently caress is going on with her brain I've never seen anything like it and the closest thing I can come up with when looking into it is reaction to covid infection invading the brain. Doctors are working her up for some mystery metastatic cancer, but she doesn't have a history of cancer. I'm not saying it's covid, but I've never seen mets look like this in my entire career as a not radiologist.
