True.

It also shouldn’t be rich care only, either.

Your ability to seek and maintain health shouldn’t be disincentivized due to cost.

I think that the outrageous US cost of health insurance is cross subsidising the rest of the world because my corporate health plan here in Europe just let's me get anything for £100 per illness. You want an unnecessary MRI? Go for it because the consultant doesn't give a poo poo about the costs and neither does the insurer.

So thanks America, your pain is potentially our gain and that's some real schadenfreude right there.

I’d say you’re welcome, but I think that’s just because America is the only place the government refuses to hold health insurance companies (for countries that use insurance) accountable for doing their stated mission, which is keeping costs down while making sure clients are able to receive necessary medical care.

None of the US money would go to anything that would be positive for the health of other countries. You are still correct, though, as any shady US insurance poo poo probably gets shut down fast since your legislators have already seen what happens when the government makes no rules for health insurance.

Point and laugh at the US. We are continue slowly killing our country because any form of socialism is so scary.

I worked in a telehealth adjacent job. Hearing "who's going to pay for it?" after giving life saving advice was routine. Maybe not daily, but certainly multiple times a week. More than once I witnessed a patient being told over the phone to call 911 immediately only to have their spouse pull up to their local clinic or urgent care an hour later with their corpse in the back seat.

As a soon-to-be doc, you can always let your physician know of your situation, such as the cost (money or time) having you come in less. They'll put in a thing to keep you on the roster - most docs have limited enrollment slots so if nothing is said the office has measures in place to unassign patients who aren't seen in x years to make room for new patients.

If you talked to your doc and they said "too bad" you needed a new doc anyway.

If you haven't talked to your doc, call or email the office and they'll likely reassign you again, even if they're at capacity.

I wasn't all that enamored with my PCP in the first place and have considered finding a new one for a while so maybe it's time. And I haven't truly needed to see a doctor in a couple of years, so that's...good, right?

I just resent the entire come on of the whole thing. "Hey, Boat, last time you were here we ordered a battery of tests, all done at different facilities at different times in various locations and with additional costs approaching $1000 that found nothing really wrong with you regarding your weight loss, but we haven't billed you in a while and we need the money so unless you come in for no reason and skip work to do it then gently caress you because we have bills to pay".

It's like when my mechanic notices I haven't had to spend money on my car in a year and sends out a "hey, can you come spend some more money here?" email/text. Maybe my car is running OK for now and gently caress off with soliciting basic needs like transportation and healthcare? If I need either of you, you'll be the first to know believe me, so thank you.

While I'm sure Franklin did some gross poo poo, you're thinking of a young Errol Flynn. He noticed one day that ducks will eat fatty pork, but can't digest it and will pass it after two minutes. Add a greased string to the equation, a little patience, and half a dozen ducks, and you've got something young Errol charged his friends to see: a "living bracelet" (he closed the loop) of waterfowl.

Ha, amateur! If there's one thing I've learned from the shitton of Hitman I've been playing recently it's that you always get caught trying to move the body, and it works out much better to just leave them where they lay.

Then you only get "oh my god, a dead body!" rather than "oh my god, that man is dragging a dead body!"

I think they're trying to move away from ads targeting children because of all the unhealthy food press. That's why when Grimace made a return he was exclusively advertised towards nostalgic adults.

I've also seen people spread rumors that they retired the characters because they'd secretly been having to pay royalties to Sid and Marty Kroft the whole time, but I haven't seen any solid evidence for that.
