The Crown never has been, they had the JZXs for sport saloons historically and nothing at all now. My 171 has nice coilovers, stiffer santi-roll bars, an LSD and full polybushing and it still handles every bit of it's 5 metres long and 1600kg heft.

opengl posted:God those turds make me so angry. Just sell us an actual wagon! I actually quite like then, but they need a lift kit and chunky tires. The roof of the Toyota Crown is 60.6 inches. The Regular Accord was 58.1 inch. The accord crosstour was 65.7 inches. in person it is quite a bit smaller than the crosstour. A lot closer to a regular accord.

Point is, Toyota's own press material markets the car as "easy to get in and out of". It's not a car built for its driving dynamics. Oh, I'm not arguing it's not, at all. They're just ugly useless things. In my mind, just get the CUV and at least get some usable space. FWIW, my wife thinks my CV and the Outback are a bit too low for comfort of her back. This just means I will be putting a lift kit on the Outback... In actual awesome auto-related stuff: Blipshift made me buy another t-shirt. I do not need another t-shirt. I can never resist a Mach V.

Today I saw most likely the cleanest 300ZX today. Looked like it rolled off the factory floor. Not a single blemish, mod or addition.

That's going to be my E92 M3 in 12 years. Venice, CA is full of completely stock time-traveling beauties like that, and half of them are street parked. It's amazing. Speaking of time-traveling beauties... My uncle had this exact truck in 1982. As a 8 year old I remember making fun of him for not wanting to go offroading too far up a wooded dirt path in our development that hadn't been built yet because he didn't want to scratch it up on branches, I'm much more sympathetic to that viewpoint now. https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1983-toyota-4x4-pickup-29/

A nice ute I guess, but a lot of pricey off road gear for something that's never going to see dirt ever again.

Hilux pickups are one of those things that everyone likes but I also very much like, I don't care how played out they are. That one is a bit too done-up for my tastes, but I'd be decently shocked if it doesn't clear a much higher amount of money. Toyotas like this have directly replaced muscle cars for both desire and speculation.

My uncle & his gf at the time who is now my aunt later drove theirs from Minnesota to Alaska and traveled all over the state for a month while camping in the truck in complete wilderness, so it got plenty of the right kind of use. It came from the factory with essentially the same lift & wheels, the tires on this one might be fatter than they ran in 1983 but otherwise this is relatively stock. That red with the graphics is so iconic, I haven't seen one of this era in a long time, and that's living in LA where nothing rusts (I assume these all died of rust in the majority of the states.)

I'm assuming this will literally be the only one I'll ever have seen: thealphabetsez posted:Scrolling past this I thought it was an artillery. Whats comfortable lifting weight?? Depends on the amount you have the arm up and out, in kgs, but up to 450kg: (this is the best picture I have of this unfortunately) For anyone else that hadn't seen it, it's a Toyota Hilux 'Active Base' which has an integrated crane that tucks back where a roll bar would be, just behind the cab. Manually adjusted movement and tilting with the standard spare tire lowering tools, with a thinner test line winch (same that would be in the front bumper but with thinner line) mounted in the bed to raise and lower the load itself using the same electric controls. AISS 2023: This Wednesday 11/22 is the last day to sign up! Did you catch a joke probation, make a super embarrassing post complaining about it, and need some holiday cheer to get you back in the shitposting spirit? Then sign up for Automotive Insanity's Secret Santa! Some goon will send you a random assortment of items, mostly some broken car parts, and there is an option for penis-emblazonment. I have enjoyed it so much over the years that I volunteered to pick up the mantle from slothrop and organize it for 2023. So come on down and spread the holiday
