I feel like downing a shot glass of salt would really, really suck, but barring some sort of underlying health condition that would require a low sodium diet in the first place, you should be mostly fine.

Cable Guy posted:I think the OP meant that there was some cleaning solution of something in the glass. Why would you have a shot glass full of cleaning solution in the area people are doing tequila shots? The salt makes sense, people are supposed to take a pinch of it and put it on their wrist or their lover's neck and then lick it, I don't know what drinking game involves a pinch of Borax or whatever. Or did they just not rinse out their glassware after cleaning it?

I just assumed the drunk guy kept slamming shots of salt until he had downed enough to cause serious damage. Hihohe posted:I know i did It’s because everyone overcooks the already dry as hell breast meat. Get a good thermometer and set it to 155 insert it into the bird and pull it from the heat when it beeps. Carryover heat will get it to the perfect temperature while it rests. The 165 temp is the “every bacteria is 100% dead temperature” which you should only use for feeding babies or the infirm. Smoked a bird this year, it was juicy and delicious.

It's basically impossible to cook a whole assembled turkey without over or undercooking some part of it. Spatchcock it or otherwise take it apart first and it'll cook faster and with better results.

My friend once hosted a house party where he did ~15 shots of Tequila out of his parent's pornographic shot glasses. Obviously a pro level drinker and he just had a salt shaker that he'd shake over the back of his hand.

TACD posted:I assume Americans have been dunking huge birds in vats of oil for years but this is the first time I’ve seen it and let me tell you it’s a drat treat discovering how that country manages to make every stupid holiday into a death game It’s a direct result of us breeding turkeys to such absurd proportions that not only can the birds not walk or hold their mass up with their feeble bones, but roasting their immense carcasses is an exercise in disappointment. Because of all the thick and thin bits, breast meat is dry and makes your teeth stick together even with gobs of gravy while the thighs might still be 18 degrees (10C) off of being done. If you fry the drat thing, not only is cooking time quartered, but the meat actually gets done at the same time. You get succulent and tender breasts and thighs that don’t make you expel fiery bodily fluids from your mouth and anus the morning after.

Dry brine the turkey over night then stuff it with vegetables, cover it in butter and oil and cook it at 500 for 30 min then put foil on the breast and turn it down to 350 to cook for like two hours. Perfect turkey every time.
