I don't think costco sells a big enough bag of rice we couldn't go through in a year.

Cooking just for myself and occasionally for my partner, I've gone through a 20lb bag in the last 2 and a half months

This is how we are, the 2 if us easily go through 10lbs a month or so.

Gotta say the Kirkland pistachios are great

Got a bag of Australian ones from one of the major supermarket chains and had a struggle to finish them while my Costco didn't have any in stock for a few months...

Have the Kirkland 1.3kg bag again and it just vanishes

Yeah they kick rear end. I don't go through them crazy fast so I portion them and freeze them. They're extra amazing straight out of the freezer.

It's so tasty, and we use it to compliment pretty much anything.

Curry? Rice.
Swedish meatballs? Rice
Tacos? Rice.
Stir Fry? Rice.

Been slacking on rice this month though, mostly stews and soups. I could make chicken and rice soup...

I try telling this to my Chinese bf and he's like "gently caress you! don't disrespect rice!"

It's a big deal that he uses a bed of it to "absorb the flavors" of whatever he's cooking, and I'm like isn't it just serving as a filler then? Then he says "gently caress you! don't disrespect rice!", and then I gotta eat all the rice too. It's really good though.

It’s also really healthy and yeah, it goes good with everything like you said

If you’re broke as gently caress like I am right now a good healthy meal multiple times a day becomes:

White rice / quinoa (I put both in the rice cooker at the same time)
Black beans
Sweet Peas
Grass fed ground beef

Get all organic if you can. Costco has all of these in bulk.

Grocery outlet has better deals on beef though

I like it, it's cheap, good filler, and not terrible for you.

Though honestly I can and have eaten it on it's own, it's just that good. And plenty of kinds to choose from.

I’m rolling with the Cuckoo rice cooker and Kirkland Signature jasmine rice. I make most of my meals and it’s just such an easy, cheap carb to add in.
Jasmine is a step up in flavor from the regular white rice and sushi rice, but not as expensive as the basmati.
