In 2001, all these same cranks were going on about expanding government power - up to and including the Patriot Act, invading Iraq for no real reason and calling for aggressive shakedowns by TSA - but now they're very concerned about the 4th and FISA being used to indict their god emperor on 91 loving felonies.
Watching the right turn on law enforcement and try to paint the motherfucking FBI of all agencies as some far left radical out of control judicial juggernaut has really been something to see. They hate cops more than I do.

I would be cautious about thinking there is a real ideological postion there. Historically there has always been a section of the militant far right who hated cops because of things like waco and ruby ridge, necessarily the real militia types have a strained relationship with them because the government is never really comfortable with guys whose thing is arming themselves to the teeth and setting themselves in oppositon to the government.
And yet even as that tendency becomes more prominent in the mainstream it coincides with ever more dick sucking of the cops as the instrument of state violence against their preferred targets. I don't think they're ever really going to consolidate into a principled oppositon to the cops, only ever temporarily when it inconveniences them.

Obama wanted at least one of those, probably even two. He wanted his legacy as the first black president to be clean for the history books in the future, not to be vilified as another Karl Marx. It would not be clean to go down in history as one of the greatest anti-America presidents in history. He knows that he is still young enough, charismatic enough, connected enough, and is becoming wealthy enough to get away with it.
Please do not give up on America. The forces of evil never give up on their assault. The defenders of American liberty should not give up, either. We may as well get used to that truth and never completely relax. If we relax, the attacks of the left will intensify even more.
Now does it all make more sense? You know, I’m thinking this could be the case with more professional politicians than just Mr. Obama.

All politicians are motivated by money, power, and sex. Obama is not motivated by money, power, or sex, though. I put these two paragraphs directly adjacent to each other and saw no concern. I am very smart.
