Because of their larger cargo bay, the non-combat interceptors still have a niche role of delivering very important mobile depots to your posting foe's staging system.

Combat ceptor zoomies with a half-zooted FC and a dedicated hunter-tackler in botting space are a fun as poo poo daily activity, you krabs.

Has anyone actually had a chance to try out CCP's Vanguard? I don't wanna knock it, but from the scant footage it just looks like a generic crashland COD map that went from pre-alpha to release in record time on a shoestring budget. combat interceptors can overheat their mwd for an absurd bonus for a cycle or two, and also are just good for killing things. for example, the claw:

code:
[Claw, solo]
200mm Rolled Tungsten Compact Plates
Gyrostabilizer II
IFFA Compact Damage Control
Small Ancillary Armor Repairer

5MN Y-T8 Compact Microwarpdrive
Warp Scrambler II

Small Ghoul Compact Energy Nosferatu
200mm AutoCannon II
200mm AutoCannon II
200mm AutoCannon II

Small Auxiliary Nano Pump I
Small Projectile Burst Aerator II
also, the stiletto is the best cheapo tackle in the game, and the malediction is the best sweaty elite cyber athlete tackle in the game

When you are in the tactical view mode, you can hold down the “approach” hotkey and double click select a point in space to fly to. You can single click, drag a line, move the mouse up or down to change relative vertical direction, and then single click again which is good for manually spiraling to a target.

Is there a way to do this type of movement with the plane you orbit at? Like if I drop a MTU, and want to orbit from straight over to straight under and back, without orbiting in a random plane, I cannot seem to do this. Like sometimes killing rats my Ishtar or Myrm orbits in the same direction of the rats’ approach, but I’d like to stay perpendicular while orbiting my point in space to keep transversal up instead of alternating in their direction to too far away. I tried the same method of selecting a point and changing relative altitude with my “orbit” hotkey, but it doesn’t change the random plane I end up circling around.

I’ve been playing this game for 18+ months, it’s driving me crazy.

No, you can't manipulate the orbit unless you simulate it manually with q-clicking like the spiraling you're doing.

Today I figured out that you can choose a sub folder when creating a bookmark just by typing the first letter of the sub folders name. For example my corp has sub folders with 0, 1, 2, 3, etc. at the start of the name. So when I want to save a data site I can just press 2 and it selects that sub folder, or I press 0 to save a hole in the C6 chain, or I press 3 to save a safe.

Just something interesting I found, pretty useful if you’re a wormholer who scans a lot.

If the problem is taking too much damage from Rats because of your low transversal around an MTU, why don’t you just orbit the site or an object where the rats spawn to improve your overall constant transversal around the Rats Spawn location?

This is what I do when ratting Hubs and Havens; I just used the rats as an example folks would probably be familiar with. It seemed kinda hard to explain the question without an example. “How can I change the plane of my orbit to have 100% transversal against slow/static enemies?”—just comes out weird sounding to my ears.

I think there's promise and it's not "bad", but it's definitely very early in the development cycle and it's hard to even say what the game will be like in terms of replayability, progression, and so on. Getting matched with random pubbies who weren't using PTT made it less of a survival game and more of a "kill me now" experience; I had one guy slurping out of a big gulp the entire match and the other guy was carrying on a conversation on discord that I got to hear half of. I can't see myself playing it more than a few rounds in the present state but interested to see what they do with it and how they gently caress it up.

Like, the movement/shooting/environment is fine enough, but not having anything else to it is so meh. After a couple rounds you've seen everything there.

The BRs are limited to moving a single cruiser hull, typically with a expanded cargohold mod(s) in the low at the expense of that 2sec align; they don't have fleet hangers. They are not scannable, which is good. They're basically unkillable unless you're undocking or unlucky.

If you want to deliver BCs or a single BS to your nest using a subcap, you need a DST, and you need to suffer its 14sec+ align time and lethargic warp speeds, which makes long distance travel a chore. They're still almost unkillable!

Are there even other players? I tried a little bit, and my experience so far was:

-Walking up an incline I suddenly got a warning to turn back to the mission area, but I got killed before I could even turn around, yikes
-Second try, walking into a different direction, enemies with names like "Grunt 69" showed up, I assume bots. I killed two of them by simply slowly walking towards them and firing my dinky little gun. Then an invisible enemy somewhere behind me killed me again.

Then I called it a day because the game runs like poo poo on my PC.

My personal review: It doesn't play like DUST at all, it runs bad, it is a confusing mess and I had no idea what I was supposed to do. Also whoever thought it was a good idea to force you to press and hold a key to make your map show up should be shot like Grunt 69. Also no lasers so far. 0/10, try again CCP.
