Thankfully, my dad never sold his '55 Chevy. Sadly, it's mine now. I could have gone a little longer without getting it, if I'm honest.
They *did* sell the '70 Chevelle SS 396, though, and I told him a number of times I was annoyed about that.

The guy that has it now is doing a ground up full resto which I never had the time or money to do so it's in a better place.

Some of the bodywork repair is stuff that would expect from stuff like Tyrell's workshop when doing Lamborghini concourse grade restorations, not for a Nissan. MyMechanics is one of the few "item repair" youtuber i can watch without feeling cheated at the result (a lot of them just disassemble the parts, chuck in a vat of rust remover and paint an hand of generic tool black).

He’s shared a few great stories about having to explain to other body work guys whom he’s asked for input from that he’ll be spending the next full week hammering and welding the imperfections of the lip on a Nissan hood instead of spending 20 minutes with some bondo.

The funny thing is they're now worthy of mid-5-figure restorations, to the point where the sheet metal and paint far exceed what the factory was capable of in the 60's and 70's

It's probably not that complicated, they're Ford UK promo shots.

https://www.thisismoney.co.uk/money/cars/article-3968112/Ford-Granada-Scorpio-just-1-325-miles-set-collector-s-item.html

quote:

Ford has recreated a famous police car scene shot 30 years ago to the day. The iconic picture published on 24 November 1986 featured a patrol car-liveried RS200 supercar pulling over a Sierra RS Cosworth (like the one you can buy lower down).

To celebrate, Ford UK has released a shot of one of the current Focus RS police cars pulling over the very same model that featured in the original shot - the RS200.

No RS200s were actually used by the police force, mainly due to the incredible cost of the Group B rally creation - even 30 years ago it was £50,000, which is almost £20K more than a Focus RS costs today.
