On day 10 of my first infection and my only remaining symptom is a lot of congestion in my nose. It was a rough ride though. Even with my (probably thanks to pax) light symptoms, covid made me feel way worse than other times I've been sick. I'd hate to get it again so maybe this was the kick in the nuts I needed to more religiously avoid indoor dining despite social pressure to do it here in NYC. At least there's a lot of outdoor places here when you want to eat restaurant food. This all makes me feel confused though - why isn't this how most people respond when they catch covid? It's a terrible experience, so why wouldn't that influence everyone who gets it to try harder to avoid it afterwards?

Solid lines are generated from normalized and smoothed data provided by the Washington State Department of Health (WADoH Ref. (1) ), Verily/WastewaterSCAN (WWS Ref. (3) ), and Biobot (Ref. (4) ). White diamond dots are from most recent CDC/NWSS (Ref. (2) ) data scaled to supplement missing or out-dated data when available. Because each of these four groups use different normalization methods, different smoothing methods, and different averaging/location identifiers, the concentration of virus is not comparable between locations. See reference links at the bottom of this post for more details. There are 33 sewersheds distributed across 6 charts grouped by region then alphabetized by county and sewershed. The tables below contain WADoH or NWSS/WSS IDs (to match their respective dashboards), Date last sampled, and Trend (based on the change between the averages of the two most recent weeks). All data presented are smoothed in some degree to even out inconsistent sampling dates and extreme highs and lows. Most sewersheds are sampled 1-3 times a week and are published within a week. Some locations are late reporting by 10 days or more so be sure to note your sewershed's Date in the table or graph. Locations that are more than two weeks old will have n/a listed under Trend to indicate there it is out of date.

It's the middle of summer but Australia has got one of them good ol' tripledemics going, right in time for Christmasquote:Surge in Queensland respiratory illness prompts warning to stay away from older relatives Of course they're blaming it on immunity debt quote:Dr Gerrard said the "significant uptick" in respiratory illnesses and corresponding hospital admissions was unusual for Queensland in summer. Edit: Queensland has also just had catastrophic floods so they actually have a second tripledemic going on. They're dual-wielding tripledemics quote:Disease warning for north Queenslanders in floodwaters as clean-up begins That comes with a side order of mosquito-borne viruses quote:Increased amounts of stagnant water after floods also mean a mosquito population boom. Getting Covid? It really wasn’t that bad and ppl need to get over it. Had it 3 times, barely noticed all 3 times. quote:At this point I'd walk out. Why would Australia need Paxlovid? I was assured that they were reopening safely, and that their highly‐vaccinated population had achieved herd immunity.

TIL that if you run the Airmega and the Hypo-Humidifier in the same room at the same time, the Airmega gets real mad. I'm airing the house out before the contractors get here, and trying to decide what I want to run while they're here. High today is in the high 40s, so maybe furnace fan and Airmega with open windows now, and then move the humidifier to each room when they're done? I also wonder if 1:1 with water and hypochlorous 500 is too strong, because my eyes are burning.
