clearly, the fault lies with a couple of weeks of not going outside quite as much several years ago, rather than the extraordinarily virulent novel coronavirus that it turns out plays every trick in the book that coronaviruses have for evading immunity that also induces a superantigenic response that fucks your naive immune cell count in every reputable study that's surveyed population of various immune cells through the timeline of acute and post acute infection

My brain breaks a little every time I am at a medical facility and they ask me if I've been exposed to COVID or been out of the country in the last two weeks. All it serves is a reminder that they aren't doing poo poo and no one is wearing a mask or taking any measures to improve air quality and also gently caress you Mr or Ms check in person I can promise you that every single person you see has probably been exposed to COVID in the last two weeks including the person you see in the mirror.

Completely subjectively, I think that there is a fairly common sense in the western world that Something Is Very Wrong, but it's way easier for people to accept causes that are out of left field became they don't require people to change their worldviews in any way that actually matters: "the truth is that the world is flat, and our ignorance is why things are wrong right now" "there is a shadowy cabal illuminati harvesting adrenochrome for antifa supersoldiers, that's why everything is wrong right now" "#BigTech is censoring me and my buddies who just have #questions about (((the Jews))) and immigrants, and that's why everything is off right now wake up sheeple" "There is no conspicuous, completely-obvious rise in severe unseasonable illnesses, and even if there was, it's because of YEARS of tyrannical#lockdowns" It's easier to accept that these things are actually at fault for all of our problems, because the alternative is accepting that we need to genuinely address unfettered capitalism that has mutated into a bastard socialism-for-corporations economy, a global pandemic that will continue to attack literally hearts and minds for as long as it remains un-eradicated, and a rising global rightwing extremist movement hellbent on permanently altering western democracies. That's very uncomfortable for people who would rather pretend that they feel comfortable right now.

People would rather attribute The Vibes Being Off to conspiracy theories so they can sit in their living rooms and shake their fists at chemtrails. That's easier than accepting that our problems are things that they actually have some civic responsibility to address. "Why would I wear a mask, the lockdowns caused this #ImmuneDebt"

still in the er and I was told the peds wing is full of RSV. I came back after while and the staff barely wearing the baggy blues were telling me that I might not want to go back to see my spouse in the ER due to all the covid etc. I was like ..I’m wearing a good mask(aura) I’m fine. very foreign concept. she was pretty irritated at my answer. whatever. not to mention the majority of hospital staff is unmasked so I guess they don’t give a poo poo . a janitor and 2 people in the waiting rooms are either wearing the duckbill or an aura. the janitor had a red band aura which I haven’t seen. I thought I’ve seen everything regarding masks but it’s a master class in how not to wear a baggy blue in the past few hrs I’ve been here.

I never understood those fogging disinfector things we saw pics of from China occasionally. The odds of airborne COVID viruses 'colliding' with disinfectant in the air and being destroyed don't seem great. Certainly nothing like how 222/254nm can strike them while suspended in midair.

I think the idea was that you’d clean out your mucous membranes with it for a few seconds and it would have a similar preventative effect to the nasal sprays, which is to say maybe preventative but not backed up by any rock solid studies yet

Why was the international travel thing so important anyways? I feel like by the time protective measures were actually hitting, even in the "peak lockdown" month or two we had, it was already throughout the country at that point. Driving to canada and back was not like a bigger risk than anything that involved people and yet was somehow marked as more important. My wife's chemo clinic was incredibly diligent about asking this question every week we showed up for a treatment and don't get me wrong I think flagging travel in a general sense was an okay idea but really the difference between international or domestic was already irrelevant and even non travel just general behavior was probably more significant.

It is kind of an amusing read though. I think we should prolly just stop talking about huffing the stuff. Feels way too much like trump and bleach. Basically just another version of "how about if we disinfect our insides, that would work, right??" It doesn't seem like it's harmful at nominal amounts, but I don't trust goons to get the right concentrations and/or get the correct chemicals and/or not breath it for wayyy too drat long.

Fogging looked badass when Chinese folks in Moon suits were doing it on deserted city streets. I would order the same if I were president. It’s theatre, but sometimes there is value in theatre. If you’re doing it in your house and it’s making you ill, you should probably stop doing it though.

Yeah, but wasn’t that from Maxwellhill, who got COVID anyway? Or from Ibid, who hasn’t been seen for four months? N = 2 and all that, but it’s not looking good for the ærosolized HOCL intervention.
