TurboXS DTEC.
Was basically a scangauge / auxiliary gauge cluster.
Ironically years ahead of the Banks iDash / Torque for Android.

That's rather sensible since you could replace the part the mechanic is likely to break (screen/buttons) by just going to a toy shop and spend very little.

not sure about the exhaust dumping right above the foot-pegs like that though. running it under the side skirts and dumping to the side in front of the rear tire would look better and also keep the heat off his shoes

This is a Volvo 242 with an S65 V8 and 7 speed DCT swapped into it from an E92 M3.

I also own a 1985 240 that's been on the list for a restoration for years, not sure I want to have exactly the same engine in two cars, but this has to absolutely rip

Oh that's easy, you already have the doner car to swap into the 240. You just need to figure out what to put in the BMW now.

He does add turn outs in like the next episode, probably exactly because he was melting his shoes. Then again, he's somewhere where it snows.
Also, he built a radial lawnmower. Like almost entirely scratch-built the engine.

In cool things I discovered today at work, our Diablo mechanic and I discovered one of our SE30's has an exhaust silencer as part of it's aftermarket exhaust system (gotta love cars from Japan). This was news to me and I'd never heard it with the exhaust "open"....my mind is blown. The video doesn't even remotely do the exhaust justice, it sounds absolutely righteous in person.
