FreudianSlippers posted:I had a Ilizarov frame a couple times for non-lengthening reasons and there was some excruciating pain involved when those pins were tightened. I also still get infections in the scars left by the pins. This procedure uses an internal femur nail, not an Ilizarov frame, so at least they don't have to deal with that. Leg lengthening is cool procedure when medically necessary. This girl went from 3'10" with severely bowed legs to 4'11", and she also had her arms done and gained 4 inches there, too. She had to use Ilizarov frames (there are some pictures in the article). The internal nail sounds like it would be a great option for people like her. https://www.limblength.org/patient-stories/chandler/

That sounds like a special circle of hell all its own. The one where all the incredibly insecure toxic manlets get sent to. lovely about your height in life? Great, now you can get stretched out to the DRR DRR DRR monster from the end of Enigma of Amigara Fault over and over again for the rest of eternity!

If someone told me I could be a few inches taller, I'd just have to break both my legs and insert plastic rods into my leg bones and wait multiple painful months for them to heal before I could even dream of walking around again, I'd simply say no thanks, being short isn't that bad.

Without clicking on the link, I bet it's dudes with an average height doing it too. There was that article about dick lengthening surgery where this dude went through absolutely horrible painful procedures and then you find out his dick was like a normal length as long as you aren't judging him solely against male porn stars.

My favorite thing is the guy posting 1200 bucks a month for five years, 72000 dollars, to be like 2 inches taller to just barely clear 6 feet. I mean I kinda understand wanting to change something about your body but constantly breaking my legs and having to learn to walk again is not really that tempting.

being 6 feet tall is not an automatic pussy wagon. Being tall probably helps but you also need to be interesting, and if your head space is "I need to have incredibly painful surgery so I can be 3 inches taller" you probably aren't that interesting. Say it gets you a first date with someone, what do you talk about on that date?

I'm short af and when I first learned about this in my most angsty, sorry for myself whiny period even I was "oh gently caress that, what is wrong with people". I also have already shortish arms so the idea was mostly amusing when I imagined the weird human t-rex I'd turn into.

The craziest part of the article to me is how most of the guys don't admit they got surgery and think that people believe their obvious lies:quote:At one point during dinner, Dr. D casually reveals that 90 percent of his patients don’t ever tell anyone they’ve gotten the surgery.
